Course Introduction
Nutrition Science explores the fundamental principles of human nutrition and the role of nutrients in maintaining health and preventing disease. This course examines the digestion, absorption, and metabolism of macronutrients and micronutrients, as well as the physiological functions and dietary sources of essential nutrients. Students will analyze current evidence on the relationship between nutrition, chronic disease, and public health, while also considering the impact of lifestyle, cultural, and environmental factors on dietary choices. The course provides a scientific foundation for understanding how nutrition supports growth, development, and overall well-being throughout the lifespan.
