Microbial Physiology Exam Preparation Guide

Course Introduction
Microbial Physiology explores the structural, functional, and metabolic processes that enable microorganisms to grow, reproduce, and interact with their environments. The course investigates cellular organization, nutrient uptake, energy production, biosynthesis of macromolecules, regulatory mechanisms, and adaptation to stress or changing conditions. Emphasis is placed on the diversity of microbial life encompassing bacteria, archaea, and selected eukaryotic microbes as well as experimental approaches used to study physiological functions. This foundational knowledge is essential for understanding microbial roles in ecosystems, biotechnology, health, and disease.
