Course Introduction
Medical Genetics is an introductory course focused on the genetic mechanisms underlying human health and disease. The course covers principles of inheritance, gene structure and function, chromosomal abnormalities, and the molecular basis of genetic disorders. Students will explore the diagnosis, management, and counseling associated with genetic diseases, as well as ethical considerations in genetic testing and therapy. Emphasis is placed on the application of genetic knowledge to patient care, the use of modern biotechnological techniques in medicine, and the role of genetics in the development of personalized medicine.
