This course explores the wide range of medical conditions that impact physical therapy practice, providing students with a foundational understanding of common pathologies across the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on the etiology, clinical presentation, progression, and management of conditions affecting the musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems. Students will learn to identify symptoms, interpret relevant medical information, and integrate knowledge of medical comorbidities into physical therapy assessment and intervention planning. The course also highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and safe, evidence-based decision-making in providing holistic patient care.
