Course Introduction
Introduction to Geology provides a comprehensive overview of Earth's physical structure and the dynamic processes that shape our planet. Students will explore fundamental concepts such as the formation and classification of minerals and rocks, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanism, weathering, and erosion. The course also examines Earth's history through the study of fossils and stratigraphy, and considers the practical applications of geology in areas like resource management and environmental stewardship. By the end of the course, students will gain a solid grounding in geological principles and an appreciation for the Earth's ever-changing nature.
