Course Introduction
Introduction to Audiology provides students with a foundational understanding of the science of hearing and the discipline of audiology. The course explores the anatomy and physiology of the auditory system, causes and types of hearing loss, methods of hearing assessment, and principles of auditory rehabilitation. Students learn about basic audiometric testing, hearing aids, cochlear implants, and contemporary approaches to managing hearing disorders. Emphasis is placed on the roles and responsibilities of audiologists, ethical considerations, and the impact of hearing loss on communication and quality of life across the lifespan.
