Course Introduction
This course explores the international relations of countries in the Global South, focusing on how historical legacies, developmental challenges, and shifting power dynamics shape their engagement with global politics. Students will examine the roles of emerging economies, regional organizations, and transnational actors in addressing issues such as poverty, security, democratization, and climate change. Through a combination of theoretical frameworks and case studies, the course critically analyzes how nations in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East navigate global governance structures and assert their agency in a rapidly changing world order.
