Course Introduction
Industrial Hygiene explores the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or significant discomfort among workers or the community. This course introduces students to the principles and practices of identifying chemical, physical, and biological hazards, as well as strategies for minimizing exposure and ensuring compliance with occupational health regulations. Emphasis is placed on hazard assessment methodologies, monitoring and measuring workplace exposures, ventilation, control technologies, and the regulatory framework governing industrial hygiene practices.
