This course provides an in-depth exploration of hospice and palliative care, focusing on the principles, practices, and philosophy of caring for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. Students will examine the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of end-of-life care, as well as the roles of interdisciplinary teams in supporting patients and their families. Emphasis is placed on symptom management, communication skills, ethical considerations, and culturally sensitive care. The course aims to prepare students to deliver compassionate, holistic care and to effectively address the unique challenges and needs encountered in hospice and palliative care settings.
