This course introduces students to the foundational concepts and practices in maternity and pediatric nursing, focusing on the holistic care of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as the nursing care of infants, children, and adolescents. Emphasizing the unique physiological and psychosocial needs of mothers and children, the course covers growth and development, family-centered care, health promotion, and the prevention and management of common maternal and pediatric health issues. Students will develop skills in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions, utilizing evidence-based practice and effective communication to support the health and well-being of mothers, children, and families across diverse clinical settings.
