Course Introduction
Foreign Policy Analysis explores the processes, actors, and theories involved in the formulation and implementation of a country's foreign policy. The course examines the internal and external factors that influence decision-making, such as political institutions, leadership, public opinion, national interests, and the international environment. Through the study of case studies and theoretical frameworks, students gain a comprehensive understanding of how and why states pursue particular foreign policy strategies, the impact of global events on policy choices, and the role of diplomatic, economic, and military tools in international relations.
