Course Introduction
Financial Accounting introduces students to the fundamental principles and concepts essential for measuring, recording, and reporting financial transactions of businesses and organizations. The course covers topics including the accounting cycle, preparation and analysis of financial statements, and the application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Students will develop an understanding of how financial information supports decision-making for internal and external stakeholders, and will gain practical skills in using accounting systems and interpreting financial reports. Attention is also given to ethical issues and the regulatory environment of financial accounting.
