Course Introduction
This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of epidemiology as applied to dental hygiene practice. It covers the study of patterns, causes, and effects of oral health and disease conditions in diverse populations. Students will learn about epidemiological methods, measures of disease frequency and association, data interpretation, and the application of findings to promote oral health and prevent disease. Emphasis is placed on critical analysis of scientific literature and the role of epidemiology in evidence-based dental hygiene practice.
