Course Introduction
Developmental Biology explores the processes by which organisms grow and develop, from fertilization through to adulthood. The course covers the molecular, genetic, and cellular mechanisms that drive development, including pattern formation, cell differentiation, morphogenesis, and organogenesis. Students examine key model organisms to understand conserved pathways and innovative experimental techniques in the field. Emphasis is placed on the dynamic interplay between genes and the environment, the regulation of developmental timing, and the implications of developmental biology for medicine and biotechnology.
