Community Health Nursing focuses on the principles and practices of promoting and protecting the health of populations using knowledge from nursing, social, and public health sciences. This course explores the role of nurses in assessing community needs, planning and implementing health education and interventions, and evaluating the effectiveness of community health initiatives. Students will engage with topics such as disease prevention, health promotion, epidemiology, environmental health, and the delivery of care to diverse and vulnerable populations within various community settings. Through case studies, fieldwork, and collaborative projects, students will develop the skills necessary to work as effective members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams and to advocate for health equity and improved health outcomes at the community level.
