Course Introduction
Clinical Microbiology is the study of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites, that cause diseases in humans. This course explores the fundamental principles of microbial pathogenesis, laboratory identification techniques, and the clinical significance of pathogens. Emphasis is placed on specimen collection, diagnostic testing, antimicrobial susceptibility, infection control, and epidemiology within healthcare settings. Students will gain practical experience in interpreting laboratory results and understanding the role of clinical microbiology in guiding patient management and public health interventions.
