Course Introduction
Clinical Dental Radiology focuses on the principles and applications of radiographic imaging in dentistry. The course covers the fundamental science of X-ray generation, radiation safety protocols, and the interpretation of intraoral and extraoral radiographs. Students will learn about radiographic anatomy, recognizing pathologies, and diagnostic techniques essential for effective patient care. Emphasis is placed on proper patient positioning, technique selection, and minimizing patient exposure to radiation. The course also introduces advanced imaging modalities, such as cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), and discusses their roles in clinical decision-making and comprehensive dental treatment planning.
