Chronic Disease Epidemiology explores the distribution, determinants, and prevention strategies for non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, and respiratory illnesses within populations. The course covers epidemiological methods for studying chronic conditions, risk factor assessment, measurement of disease burden, and approaches to surveillance. Students will examine the impact of behavioral, environmental, genetic, and social factors on chronic disease patterns and review case studies to strengthen their abilities to interpret and critique epidemiologic research. Emphasis is placed on the application of epidemiologic principles to public health practice and policy development aimed at reducing chronic disease incidence and improving population health outcomes.
