Course Introduction
Biological Anthropology explores the biological and evolutionary foundations of the human species. This course examines the principles of evolution, genetics, primatology, and the fossil record to understand human origins, adaptation, and diversity across time and space. Students will investigate the physical development of humans, compare humans with other primates, and explore how biological factors interact with cultural practices. Topics such as human variation, adaptation to different environments, and the impact of disease and diet on human evolution are discussed, offering a comprehensive view of what it means to be human from a biological perspective.
