This course explores the psychological foundations of attitudes their formation, structure, and function as well as the mechanisms through which attitudes can be changed. Students will examine classic and contemporary theories of persuasion, including message and source effects, cognitive processes, and resistance to influence. Emphasis is placed on empirical research, practical applications, and the ethical considerations involved in shaping public opinion, advertising, and social behavior. Through lectures, discussions, and assignments, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how attitudes influence individual and societal actions and how persuasive communication strategies are developed and evaluated.
