Works by Georges Braque, Claude Lalanne and Karel Appel show that jewelry and fine art have always existed in symbiosis. Inspired by the mythological tales in Ovid's Metamorphoses, Braque created numerous motifs in his late work, which were translated into gouaches, sculptures and pieces of jewelry - the latter executed by the jeweler Heger de Löwenfeld. The 'Procris' brooch made of gold and enamel with Braque's well-known depiction of birds comes from this series and is estimated at € 5,000 to € 7,000. Flora and fauna merge into sculptural jewelry objects in Claude Lalanne's work. Her works already attracted a great deal of attention in the December auction.
