From the Clubhouse Welcome to the weekend! A short and sweet update this week. Due to low numbers in the Ladies competition late last year, with a lot of Members busy with Family commitments or travel, we were unable to hold the Women’s Club Championships. We would like to give our Ladies another opportunity to hold their annual honor board event now that the busy season has (mostly) passed. We hope to split the field into A & B grades if enough ladies participate. This year the club champs will be played in a Stableford format rather than Stroke - also in the hope to encourage all of our Ladies to ‘have fun and have a go’! Please book in and let either Rob, Nicci or Fraser know that you will be playing! Happy Golfing!

The Course Report..... This week we welcomed another great amount of rain on the course. We had 18mm which takes our monthly total to 57mm. Our course has really enjoyed this rain and it shows. This has taken a large amount of pressure off the watering system. Having these consistent bursts of rain will have our couch fairways in great condition going into dormancy. We managed to put out our product for the cockchafer in the 7th, 8th and 18th fairways this week. We watered in with hoses and impact sprinklers constantly moving them around on these fairways. Sorry if any one played on these days and were affected by the sprinklers running. This rain would have really got the product down into the soil on top of the water we had put out. We have seen an instant result of no Ibis birds on these fairways since. Hope everyone is enjoying the way the course is playing! Jake
Our hard working Volunteers Along with their usual tasks our volunteers back filled the edge of the entry road to prevent the new surface from breaking away. Australia Day with Wilbur Wild & the Troublemakers NEXT FRIDAY!!!!!!! The courtesy Bus will depart from the Queenscliff Bowls Club from 12.45pm. BBQ and Cheese Platters will be available Tickets are already selling!! Make sure you book through TryBooking (SCAN THE QR BELOW) We may not be able to cater to walk ins depending on numbers.

2024 Jeff Wall Classic The Jeff Wall Golf Classic, a 4 ball Ambrose, shotgun start event that will be held at 8am Friday 16th February 2024 at the Queenscliff Golf Club in memory of Jeff Wall and to raise funds for National Heart Foundation.(NHF) The money raised contributes to the mission to improve heart disease prevention, detection, and support for all Australians. We would love QGC members to enjoy the day with us. The cost of $70 / member covers a spit roast meal, prizes and a $15 donation to the NHF. A raffle and maybe an auction will be held on day. Each group entered should nominate a Team Captain, and payment be made for all of your group at once, using the Captains surname as your reference. Individuals and smaller groups are also welcome to join.
