Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! Festivities have very much arrived at the club, and the course is getting busier with visitors and guests by the day. The last few days have seen quite a few Christmas groups come through, with everyone raving about how good the course is looking right now. Please remember that the course is closed on Christmas Day (Monday) for time to enjoy with Family and Friends. Please also remember that this is traditionally the course’s busiest time of the year. Get into the habit of booking your regular tee time – and to call and cancel if you are unable to make it. The food and beverage cart is up and running. Wednesday saw her cruising the course, serving loads of salad rolls and drinks to hungry (and thirsty) golfers! It’s going to be a great addition to the club over the summer! The Course Report..... The week before Christmas and we have been busy with our maintenance program. The new spray unit has been getting quite a bit of use spraying fairways and greens with fertilizer. You may have noticed some green patches on our greens over the last few weeks and might be wondering what that is. The cause of the patches is wildlife droppings (Swan and Ducks) causing an excessive amount of nitrogen in those spots.

This week we had an irrigation contractor come in and install 3 air release valves across the course. These are integral component to the irrigation system as they allow trapped air in the lines to escape. This should ease the pressure build up in the lines and lessen the number of breaks. Volunteers and Staff Christmas Lunch Thank you to everyone who contributes to making our club the fantastic place it is. We appreciate everyone’s generous support no matter how big or small it may be. The QGC wouldn’t be the place it is without you.
A little message from the Monday Work Group. The MWG installed the shade sail over the BBQ pit this will make using the area much more comfortable during the summer months. We also re-oiled the deck and outside furniture in readiness of a busy summer season. We enjoyed a very nice Christmas lunch courtesy of the club and look forward to again working around the clubhouse and course under the direction of Jake. Merry Christmas and a great New Year to everyone.
