From the Clubhouse Membership Renewals were sent out yesterday. You would have noticed a 6.4% increase. This increase is under the headline inflation over the last 12 months. We note that inflation has dropped considerably but we are in catch up mode as labour and material costs have continued to increase. We have a sensible budget to make a profit and we are mindful of asset replacements programs for the next 3 years, including carts, oncourse developments and essential irrigation system upgrades. With our overall Membership base and mix of juniors, full members and lifestyle members and our understanding of household pressures we hope members will realise an increase was inevitable and we have done the best we can to minimise that increase and impact on our valued membership.

If you have not received your renewal notice please let Nicci know as soon as possible on nicci@queenscliffgoflclub.com.au. If Members could keep this in mind as the less interruption the quicker they can reopen for everyone.
The Course Report..... With the course drying out rapidly means we have been putting our irrigation system to the limits. In correlation with putting pressure on our system means more leaks and issues arise across the course. We have repaired 5 leaks in the past week. Taking our total to 18 repair on our pipes since October 2023. The ageing pipes and old glue failing is becoming more and more on the course. Past repair jobs from years gone by are now failing. Some areas on the course will be drier than others due to not having water on these sections for a few days while repairs where underway. The greens are looking in good shape after the topdressing sand and application of wetting agent. The disease has taken a back step for now and our bent grass is now creeping into the old disease scars. My next application of my fertiliser program will take place next week and will see great results coming into end of February/ start of March. The tees have dried out and slowed down with the growth. We had issues of too much excess growth due to the combination of the warm humidity and heavy rainfall which caused the mower to leave ripples. Now we can hopefully have a steady and manageable growth going forward. We will be applying another type of wetting agent for the tees and an application of granular fertiliser. Captains Ties These ties were worn by Gordon Scorgie Snr as Captain of the Queenscliff Golf Club during the 1970’s. Gordon Snr was the 1st of 3 generations to hold official positions at our club. Gordon Snr was followed by his son Gordon L Scorgie and Grandson Andrew. The contribution of the Scorgie family to the Queenscliff Golf Club cannot be overstated. The ties were ordered from Henry Bucks store in Melbourne.
