TOSS UP Pheffer Amato trails Sullivan by 246 votes PAGE 4 The results of the Assembly District 23 race are not looking good for Democratic incumbent Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato, who is behind her challenger, Army veteran and businessman Thomas Sullivan. As of Wednesday, the Republican held a slight lead with 50.37 percent of the vote. Pheffer Amato’s counterpart in the Senate, state Sen. Joe Addabbo Jr., beat his Republican challenger by a decisive margin.
