Two prominent area leaders to retire PAGES 4 AND 16 Rep. Nydia Velázquez, left, and Councilmember Bob Holden are both saying goodbye to their longtime seats in their respective branches of government. Velázquez has served in the House of Representatives for 32 years and will retire at the end of her current term. Holden, who represented parts of South and southwestern Queens for years before redistricting, is term-limited in the City Council and will exit in the new year.
