Howard Beach remembers the fallen MORE PHOTOS ON PAGES 6, 12, 14 AND 22 The annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday in Howard Beach, hosted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2565, saw a huge turnout despite the risk of a downpour. Along the route, the procession stopped at memorials throughout the neighborhood, including at Walter J. Wetzel Memorial Triangle, above, where wreaths were laid in honor of those who died serving the country. Elsewhere in the borough, additional Memorial Day ceremonies were held throughout the day.
