The Aim Our Strategic Plan 2025-2028 sets Queen Margaret College up to create an enduring, dynamic learning environment that empowers students to succeed as passionate learners, resilient wāhine, and future leaders. It is anchored on the bedrock of our mission to empower young women to live, learn and lead courageously; our vision and school motto “Luce Veritatis – By the Light of Truth”; and our values of manaakitanga (generosity), whakaute (respect), manawaroa (resilience), pono (integrity), and māia (courage). We renew our focus on preparing leaners who are future-focused and empowered to lead themselves and others.

We will build on our solid foundation of quality learning and teaching by integrating a skills-based outcomes framework. This will enhance and expand our approach as we move beyond traditional content delivery.

We will prioritise competencies such as collaboration, critical thinking, adaptability, digital fluency, and others identified as critical by 2035.

We will also integrate skills such as leadership, social influence and ethical decision-making with technological and analytical competencies to equip our students to navigate uncertainty and lead in an ever-changing global context.

Intelligences Our strategic plan integrates insights from global experts and leaders in education and workforce development. We have framed our strategic priorities around the five key intelligences: Academic, Emotional, Social, Digital, and Leadership. We have named our intelligences Futuristic, Empowered, Engaged, Prepared, and Self. ϐ

Futuristic (Academic Intelligence): Broadening and innovating our curriculum offerings to encourage learners to be creators of knowledge.

Empowered (Emotional Intelligence): Expanding hauora into a proactive wellbeing practice that builds resilience and fosters individual and collective identity.

Engaged (Social Intelligence): Elevating social awareness, building partnerships, and promoting continuous development and an inclusive environment.

Prepared (Digital Intelligence): Developing digital sophistication to achieve better outcomes and foster creativity and innovation.

Strategic Planning Horizons We have adopted a phased approach with three strategic planning horizons: ϐ

Horizon 2: Innovating for the Future: Focusing on innovations, new opportunities, strategic partnerships, and digital transformation (within 2-5 years).
