Whentheengineisoperatedonlyforshortperiodsoftime,thebatteriesmaynotfullyrecharge. Makesurethatthealternatorisproperlyfunctioning.Thealternatorwillchargethebattery.

Disposeofallfluidsaccordingtolocalregulationsandmandates.
Theaxleoilcoolerfiltershouldbereplacedwhenafailureoccursinthecoolingsystem.
Note:Theoilfilterscontaina140micronscreen.

Thereareatotaloftwoaxleoilcoolerfiltersonyourmachine.Oneofthefiltersislocatedonthe rearframeunderneaththeradiator.Asecondfilterislocatedonthefrontframeabovethedrive shaft.
1.Stoptheengine.
2.Theaxleoilcoolerfilterislocatedinsidetheaccesspanelontheundersideofthemachine. Removetheaccesspanel.
3.Removetheoilfilteranddiscardthefilterproperly.Makesurethattheoldsealisremoved fromthefilterbase.
4.Installthenewfilter.
a.Applyathincoatofoiltothesealonthenewfilter.
b.Installthenewfilterhandtightuntilthesealofthefiltercontactsthebase.Notethe positionoftheindexmarksonthefilterinrelationtoafixedpointonthefilterbase.
Note:Therearerotationindexmarksontheoilfilterthatarespaced90degreesor1/4 ofaturnawayfromeachother.Whenyoutightenthefilter,usetherotationindex marksasaguide.
c.Tightenthefilteraccordingtotheinstructionsthatareprintedonthefilter.Usethe indexmarksasaguide.Fornon-Caterpillarfilters,usetheinstructionsthatare providedwiththefilter.
Note:YoumaywanttouseaCaterpillarstrapwrench,oranothersuitabletoolin ordertoturnthefiltertotheamountthatisrequiredforfinalinstallation.Makesure thattheinstallationtooldoesnotdamagethefilter.
5.Repeatsteps3through4.cfortheotherfilter.
6.Installtheaccesspanel.
