Thedeclaredsoundlevelslistedaboveincludebothmeasurementuncertaintyanduncertaintydue toproductionvariation.
Hearingprotectionmaybeneededwhenthemachineisoperatedwithacabthatisnotproperly maintainedorwhenthedoorsorwindowsareopenforextendedperiodsorinanoisy environment.

Machinesthatareoperatingsafelyinvariousapplicationsdependonthesecriteria:themachine model,configuration,machinemaintenance,operatingspeedofthemachine,conditionsofthe terrain,fluidlevels,andtireinflationpressures.Themostimportantcriteriaaretheskilland judgmentoftheoperator.
AwelltrainedoperatorthatfollowstheinstructionsintheOperationandMaintenanceManualhas thegreatestimpactonstability.Operatortrainingprovidesapersonwiththefollowingabilities: observationofworkingandenvironmentalconditions,feelforthemachine,identificationof potentialhazardsandoperatingthemachinesafelybymakingappropriatedecisions.
Whenyouworkonsidehillsandwhenyouworkonslopes,considerthefollowingimportant points:
Speedoftravel-Athigherspeeds,forcesofinertiatendtomakethemachinelessstable.
Roughnessofterrainorsurface-Themachinemaybelessstablewithuneventerrain.
Directionoftravel-Avoidoperatingthemachineacrosstheslope.Whenpossible,operatethe machineuptheslopesandoperatethemachinedowntheslopes.Placetheheaviestendofthe machineuphillwhenyouareworkingonanincline.
Mountedequipment-Balanceofthemachinemaybeimpededbythefollowingcomponents: equipmentthatismountedonthemachine,machineconfiguration,weights,andcounterweights.
Natureofsurface-Groundthathasbeennewlyfilledwithearthmaycollapsefromtheweightof themachine.
Surfacematerial-Rocksandmoistureofthesurfacematerialmaydrasticallyaffectthe machine'stractionandmachine'sstability.Rockysurfacesmaypromotesideslippingofthe machine.
Slippageduetoexcessiveloads-Thismaycausedownhilltracksordownhilltirestodigintothe ground,whichwillincreasetheangleofthemachine.
Widthoftracksortires-Narrowertracksornarrowertiresfurtherincreasethediggingintothe groundwhichcausesthemachinetobelessstable.
Implementsattachedtothedrawbar-Thismaydecreasetheweightontheuphilltracks.This mayalsodecreasetheweightontheuphilltires.Thedecreasedweightwillcausethemachineto belessstable.
Heightoftheworkingloadofthemachine-Whentheworkingloadsareinhigherpositions,the stabilityofthemachineisreduced.
Operatedequipment-Beawareofperformancefeaturesoftheequipmentinoperationandthe effectsonmachinestability.
Operatingtechniques-Keepallattachmentsorpulledloadslowtothegroundforoptimum stability.
Machinesystemshavelimitationsonslopes-Slopescanaffecttheproperfunctionand operationofthevariousmachinesystems.Thesemachinesystemsareneededformachinecontrol.

Operation

Onlyoperatethemachinewhileyouaresittinginaseat.Theseatbeltmustbefastenedwhileyou operatethemachine.Onlyoperatethecontrolswhiletheengineisrunning.
Whileyouoperatethemachineslowlyinanopenarea,checkforproperoperationofallcontrols andallprotectivedevices.
Beforeyoumovethemachine,makesurethatnoonewillbeendangered.
Donotallowridersonthemachineunlessthemachinehasanadditionalseatwithaseatbelt.The ridermustbeseatedandtheseatbeltmustbefastened.
Neverusetheworktoolforaworkplatform.
Noteanyneededrepairsduringmachineoperation.Reportanyneededrepairs.
Carryworktoolsatapproximately40cm(15inches)abovegroundlevel.
Donotgoclosetotheedgeofacliff,anexcavation,oranoverhang.
Avoidoperatingthemachineacrosstheslope.Whenpossible,operatethemachineuptheslopes anddowntheslopes.Ifthemachinebeginstosidesliponadowngrade,immediatelyremovethe loadandturnthemachinedownhill.
Avoidanyconditionsthatcanleadtotippingthemachine.Themachinecantipwhenyouworkon hills,onbanks,andonslopes.Also,themachinecantipwhenyoucrossditches,ridges,orother unexpectedobstructions.
Maintaincontrolofthemachine.Donotoverloadthemachinebeyondthemachinecapacity.
Neverstraddleawirecable.Neverallowotherpersonneltostraddleawirecable.
Knowthemaximumdimensionsofyourmachine.
AlwayskeeptheRolloverProtectiveStructure(ROPS)installedduringmachineoperation.
