Air Cleaner - Remove and Install

SMCS - 1051-010

Removal Procedure

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

1. Open the hood.

2. Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

5. Remove secondary air filter element (3) .

6. Loosen clamp (4) from tube (5) .

7. Loosen clamp (6) and remove tube (9) from housing (8) .

8. Remove bolts (7) and remove housing (8) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install housing (8) and bolts (7) .

2. Install tube (9) to housing (8) and tighten clamp (6) .

3. Tighten clamp (4) to tube (5) .

4. Install secondary air filter element (3) .

5. Install primary air filter element (2) .

6. Install cover (1) .

7. Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.

8. Close the hood.

Alternator - Remove and Install

SMCS - 1405-010

Removal Procedure

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

1. Open the hood.

2. Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.

3. Remove bolts (2) and guard (1) .

4. Remove the nut and disconnect harness assembly (3) from alternator (4) .

5. Disconnect harness assembly (5) from alternator (4) .

6. Loosen bolt (6) and bolt (8) and remove V-belt (7) .

7. Remove bolt (6), bolt (8), and alternator (4) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install alternator (4). Install bolt (8) and bolt (6) loosely.

2. Install V-belt (7). Adjust the V-belt to the proper tension and tighten bolt (6) and bolt (8). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.

3. Connect harness assembly (5) to alternator (4) .

4. Connect harness assembly (3) to alternator (4) and install the nut.

5. Install guard (1) and bolts (2) .

6. Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.

7. Close the hood.

Battery - Remove and Install

SMCS - 1401-010

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.

2. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

3. Disconnect negative battery cable (2) and positive battery cable (1) .

4. Remove bolts (4) and bracket (5).

5. Remove battery (3) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install battery (3) .

2. Install bracket (5) and bolts (4) .

3. Connect positive battery cable (1) and negative battery cable (2) .

4. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.

5. Close the hood.

Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Start By:

A. Remove the alternator. Refer to Alternator, "Alternator - Remove and Install".

1. Remove bolt (2) and bracket (1) .

2. Remove nut (4) and disconnect cable assemblies (3) from electric starting motor (5) .

3. Loosen the screw and disconnect harness assembly (6) from electric starting motor (5) .

4. Remove nuts (7) and remove electric starting motor (5) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install electric starting motor (5) and nuts (7) .

2. Connect harness assembly (6) to electric starting motor (5) and tighten the screw.

3. Connect cable assemblies (3) to electric starting motor (5) and install nut (4) .

4. Install bracket (1) and bolt (2) .

End By: Install the alternator. Refer to Alternator, "Alternator - Remove and Install".

Engine - Install

1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to engine (18). The weight of engine (18) is approximately 635 kg (1400 lb).

2. Install engine (18) .

3. Install bolts (20) and (19) .

4. Install the bolt, the washers, and nut (21). Remove Tooling (A) from engine (18) .

5. Place cable harness (13) and harness assembly (17) into position. Install cable strap (16) .

6. Install cable harness (13), cable harness (15), and nut (14) .

7. Place the fuel lines and the hose into position. Install bolt (12) .

8. Install hose (11) and tighten the clamp.

9. Install hoses (9) and (10). Tighten the clamps.

10. Connect harness assemblies (7), (6), and (8) .

11. Place throttle cable (3) into position. Install spacers (5) and bolt (4) .

12. Install throttle cable (3) from the engine and tighten nut (2) .

13. Install the ground strap and bolt (1) .

End By:

a. Install the gear motor (hydraulic fan). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Motor (Hydraulic Fan) - Install".

b. Install the gear pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump - Remove and Install".

Start By:

A. Remove the gear pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump - Remove and Install".

B. Remove the gear motor (hydraulic fan). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Motor (Hydraulic Fan) - Remove".

1. Remove bolt (1) and the ground strap.

2. Loosen nut (2) and remove throttle cable (3) from the engine.

3. Remove bolt (4) and spacers (5). Lay throttle cable (3) out of the way.

4. Disconnect harness assemblies (6), (7), and (8) .

5. Loosen the clamps. Remove hoses (9) and (10) .

6. Loosen the clamp and remove hose (11) .

7. Remove bolt (12). Lay the fuel lines and the hose out of the way.

8. Remove nut (14), cable harness (15), and cable harness (13) .
