AfterStartingtheEngine

1.Keeptheenginespeedlowuntiltheoilpressureindicatorgoesout.Iftheoilpressureindicator doesnotgooutwithin10seconds,stoptheengineandinvestigate.

2.Pushthepaneltestswitch,forthetractorandscraper,tothetestpositiontotesttheindicators.

3.Iftheindicatorsdonotcomeon,makeanynecessaryrepairs.

4.Ifanyoftheindicatorsstayon,haveanynecessaryrepairsmadebeforeoperatingthemachine.

5.Lookattheoperator'spanelfrequentlyduringoperation.Ifanyoftheindicatorscomeon,stop themachine,ifnecessary,andinvestigate.

627EOnly

NOTICE

Donotoperatethemachinewithfrontengineonly.Thisisnecessaryto providelubricationtothescrapertransmission.Transmissiondamage canresultifthemachineismovedwiththescraperenginestopped. Warm-Up

OperatetheenginesatLOWIDLEuntilthehydraulicoiliswarm.

Testthehydrauliccontrols.Allowextrawarm-uptimeiftheyaresluggish.

Besurethescraperneutral-runswitch(on627Eonly)isintherunposition,ifscraperengine powerwillberequired.

Keepthecabwindowsanddoorclosedtoreducethenoiselevelinthecab.

Besuretheareaisclearofpersonnelandobstructions.

NOTE:Donotattempttomovethetractor-scraperwithoutnormalbrakeairpressure.

1.TheretardercontrollevershouldbeintheUPposition.

2.Applytheservicebrake.

3.Pushthebuttonintoreleasetheparking/secondarybrakes.

Besurethebuttonstaysintoensurebrakesarereleased.

4.Raisethescraperbowljusthighenoughtoclearanyobstacles.

5.Releasethetransmissionneutrallock.Movetherangeselectortothehighestdesiredspeed,in onequickmotion.

6.Releasetheservicebrakepedalanddepresstheaccelerator.Onthe627E,pushbothaccelerator pedalsdownsimultaneously.

NOTE:Ifthemachinedoesnotmove,movethetransmissionselectortoneutralagain,andthento thedesiredspeed.

Nevercoastonadowngrade.Keepthetransmissionengaged.

7.Movethemachinetoanopenarea.Operatethebrakesandthesteeringtocheckforproper function.

8.Stopthemachine.Movethetransmissioncontroltoreversetochecktheoperationofthebackupalarm.

9.Checktheoperationofallthehydrauliccontrols.

10.Lowerthebowlandapplydownpressure.Applytheparking/secondarybrake.

BeforeStartingtheEngine

Walk-AroundInspection

Formaintenanceandoperatorpersonnelsafetyandmaximumservicelifeofthemachine,makea thoroughwalk-aroundinspectionbeforemountingthemachineorstartingtheengines.

Lookaroundandunderthemachineforsuchitemsaslooseormissingbolts,trashbuild-up,oil, coolantorfuelleaks.Inspecttheconditionandinflationoftires,conditionofhydrauliclinesand hoses,andconditionofcuttingedges.

Removeanytrashanddebris.Adjusttireinflationasneeded.Haveanynecessaryrepairsmade, looseconnectionsorpartstightenedandanymissingpartsreplacedbeforestartingtheengine.

Thebowlandapronmustbelowered,andtheejectorforward,theparking/secondarybrake appliedandtheenginestopped.

1.Inspectcoolingsystem,includingtheradiatorcore,forleaks,trashordirtbuild-up.

2.Inspectradiatorguardfortrashordirtbuild-up.

3.Inspectlightsforbrokenbulbsandlenses.Checkforlooseorfrayedwires.

4.Inspecthydraulicsystemforleaks.Checkforloosehoseconnections.Checkforfrayedhoses.

5.Inspecttransmissionforleaks.

6.Inspecttires(frontandrear)fordamageandproperinflation.

7.Inspectenginecompartmentforleaksandtrashbuild-up.

8.Inspectconditionandcleanlinessofstepsandhandholds.

9.Inspectdifferentials(frontandrear)undermachineforleaks.

10.Lookforwear,damage,looseormissingboltsoncuttingedgesandrouterbits.

11.Inspectfinaldrives(frontandrear)forleaks.

12.Besurecoversandguardsarefirmlyinplace.Inspectfordamage.

13.Checkbailandpushplate(627Eonly)forwear,looseormissingboltsordamage.

14.Inspectfireextinguisher(ifequipped)forproperfill,checkinstructionplate.
