BeforeStartingtheEngines
Walk-AroundInspection
Forpersonalsafetyandmaximumservicelifeofthemachine,itisimportanttomakeathoroughwalk -aroundinspectionofthefollowingmachineareasbeforestartingtheengines.
Lookaroundandunderthemachineforsuchitemsaslooseormissingbolts,trashbuildup,andoil, fuelorcoolantleaks.Inspecttheconditionandinflationofthetires,conditionofthebowl,hitch,draft armsandhydrauliccomponents.
Tractor
1.Inspectthetiresfordamageandproperinflation.See"TireInflationInformation."
2.Inspecttheconditionandcleanlinessofstepsandhandholds.Repairandcleanstepsandhandholds ifnecessary.
3.InspecttheRolloverProtectiveStructure(ROPS)forbent,crackedordamagedstructureandfor loosemountingbolts.Abent,crackedordamagedROPSshouldbereplaced.
4.Inspectthetractorenginecompartmentforoil,fuelandcoolantleaks.Lookfortrashbuildup.Stop anyleaksandremovealltrash.
5.Inspectthetractoraircleanerelementsifthepistonintheaircleanerindicatorshowsred.
6.Inspectthetractorradiatorcoreandtheguardfordirtanddebris.Removeanydirtanddebris.
7.Inspectthetractorenginecompartmentforloose,damagedormissingsprayshields.Makerepairs asnecessary.
8.Inspecttheairinletscreenfordirtanddebris.Removeanydirtanddebris.
9.Inspectthehydraulicandfueltanksforcracks,leaksandmissingbolts.Makerepairsasnecessary.
10.Inspectthedifferentialandfinaldrivesforleaks.Stopanyleaks.
11.Inspectthetransmissionforleaks.Stopanyleaks.
12.Inspectthehitchcomponentsforcracksincastings,wornpinjointsanddamagedstops.Make repairsasnecessary.
13.Inspectthehydraulictubesandhosesforlooseclampsandmountingbolts.Inspectforwornor frayedhoses.Makerepairsasnecessary.
14.Inspectthesteeringlinkageforcracksandwornordamagedcomponents.Makerepairsas necessary.
15.Inspectthedraftframegooseneckandcrosstubeforcracks,damageordistortion.Inspectfor looseormissingdraftarmmountingbolts.Makerepairsasnecessary.
16.Inspectthebowlfordamageordistortion.Makerepairsasnecessary.
17.Inspectthedraftarmsforcracksordistortion.Theclearancebetweenthedraftarmwearplateand thesidesofthebowlshouldbe.76to3.00mm(.03to.12in).Makerepairsasnecessary.
18.Inspecttheejectorfordamageordistortion.Makerepairsasnecessary.
19.Inspectthecuttingedgesforwear,damageormissingbolts.Makerepairsasnecessary.
20.Inspectthescraperdifferentialandfinaldrivesforleaks.Stopanyleaks.
