Aftercooler - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the removal procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

1. Open door assembly (2). Raise hood assembly (1) .

2. Remove hoses (3). Remove bolts (4) and remove aftercooler (5) .
Installation Procedure

1. Position aftercooler (5) and install bolts (4). Install hoses (3) .

3. Remove primary air filter element (4). Remove secondary air filter element (5) .
4. Remove hose (7). Remove bolts (8) and remove air cleaner (6) .
Installation Procedure
Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8340, "Engine Air Filter ElementClean/Replace" for information on servicing the filter elements.
1. Position air cleaner (6) and install bolts (8). Install hose (7) .
2. Install secondary air filter element (5). Install primary air filter element (4) .

Alternator - Remove and Install

1. Open hood (1) .
2. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

5. Remove belts (8) from alternator (11). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts Inspect/Adjust/Replace".
6. Disconnect harness assemblies (5), (7), (9), and (10) .
7. Remove bolts (6) and (12). Remove alternator (11) .
Installation Procedure

1. Position alternator (11) and install bolts (6) and (12) .
2. Connect harness assemblies (5), (7), (9), and (10) .
3. Install belts (8) to alternator (11). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts Inspect/Adjust/Replace".

5. Use two people in order to remove each battery (8). The weight of battery (8) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).

Note: Reposition the remote oil filter base and the hoses during the installation of the engine.
1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to engine (35). The weight of engine (35) is approximately 333 kg (735 lb).
2. Position engine (35) and install bolts (36). Tighten bolts (36) to a torque of 155 ± 10 N·m (114 ± 7 lb ft).
