Arm and Bearing - Remove and Install - XTC

Removal Procedure

Start By:

a. Remove the tilt cylinders.

b. Remove the blade cylinder.

c. Remove the quick coupler. Table 1

Required Tooling

1. Rotate the upper structure clockwise 90

2. Install pin assembly (1) for the blade cylinder on arm assembly (2).

3. Reposition hose assemblies (4) and hose assemblies (5) through bars (3).

4. If equipped, disconnect hose assemblies (6). Reposition hose assemblies (6) out of the way.

5. Attach a suitable lifting device to arm assembly (2). The weight of arm assembly (2) is approximately 178 kg (392 lb).

6. Remove the bolt and remove pin assemblies (7). Remove arm assembly (2).

7. Use Tooling (A) to remove bearings (8) and bearings (9). Remove the bolt and pin assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Install arm assembly (2) in the reverse order of removal.

Blade Cylinder - Remove and Install - XTC

Removal Procedure

Start By:

a. Release the hydraulic system pressure.

Cylinders equipped with lockvalves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.

Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.

Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.

3. Attach a suitable lifting device to blade cylinder (9). The weight of blade cylinder (9) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Remove bolt (6) and pin assembly (5). Remove bolt (8) and pin assembly (7). Remove blade cylinder (9).

Installation Procedure

1. Install blade cylinder (9) in the reverse order of removal.

When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.

Note: Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) are used for the removal of the bearing (10) and bearing (12). Tooling (B) is used for the installation of the bearing (10) and bearing (12).

1. The torque for two plugs (11) is 20 ± 3 N·m (180 ± 24 lb in) .

2. The torque for nut (13) is 1300 ± 150 N·m (960 ± 110 lb ft).

a. Remove the heating and air conditioning unit.

1. Remove screws (1). Remove screw (2) and reposition harness assembly (3).

4. Cut cable strap (9) and disconnect harness assembly (10).

Installation Procedure

1. Install blower motor (13) in the reverse order of removal.

b. Remove the stick.

When you are using hydraulic cylinders and puller studs, always ensure that the rated capacity of the puller stud meets or exceeds the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder. If the puller stud does not meet or exceed the rated capacity of the hydraulic cylinder, a sudden failure of the puller stud could occur. The sudden failure of the puller stud could result in personal injury or death.

1. Attach a suitable lifting device to the rod end of boom cylinder (3). The weight of the rod end of boom cylinder (3) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).

2. Remove bolt (1) and pin assembly (2). Lower the rod end of boom cylinder (3) onto Tooling (A).

3. Disconnect harness assemblies (4) and (5). Remove cable straps (6).

4. Remove clip (7). Disconnect hose assemblies (8).

5. Install pin assembly (10) that retained the head end of the stick cylinder. Install bolt (9). Attach a suitable lifting device to pin assembly (10). Pin assembly (10) will be used for the removal of boom assembly (11). The weight of boom assembly (11) is approximately 145 kg (312 lb).

6. Remove bolt (13) and pin assembly (12). Remove boom assembly (11)

7. Remove shims (14) from boom assembly (11).

8. Remove seal (15) and bearing (16) from boom assembly (11). Repeat for the other side of boom assembly (11).

Installation Procedure

1. Install boom assembly (11) in the reverse order of removal.

a. Use Tooling (B) to install bearings (16).

b. Use Tooling (C) to install seals (15), not shown.

c. Lubricate all bore with Tooling (D).

Boom Cylinder - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Start By:

a. Release the hydraulic system pressure.

Cylinders equipped with lockvalves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.

Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.

Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.

1. Position the bucket on the ground.

2. Remove bolt (1) and guard (2).

3. Disconnect hose assemblies (3).

4. Attach a suitable lifting device to the rod end of boom cylinder (6). The weight of the rod end of boom cylinder (6) is approximately 60 kg (130 lb). Remove bolt (4) and pin assembly (5). Lower boom cylinder (6) to the ground.

5. Attach a suitable lifting device to boom cylinder (6). The weight of boom cylinder (6) is approximately 117 kg (260 lb). Remove clip (7). Reposition hose assemblies (8). Remove bolt (9) and pin assembly (10). Remove boom cylinder (6).

Bucket - Remove and Install

1. Position bucket (3) flat on the floor with the stick in a vertical position.

2. Remove pins (1) and pin assemblies (2).

3. Use the machine hydraulics to remove the bucket linkage from bucket (3). The weight of bucket (3) is approximately 54 kg (120 lb).

Installation Procedure

Note: Clean all pin bores before installing the bucket.
