Certified Phlebotomy Technician Course (CPT I) This program is designed to provide, through didactic and clinical instruction, training and knowledge to apply for and take the National Certification Phlebotomy Technician I exam. A Phlebotomy Technician will draw blood from patients in a hospital, clinical laboratory, doctor’s office or clinic. Phlebotomy Technicians are in demand as one of the fastest growing occupations in healthcare. Upon completion of the program, the student will qualify to apply to the State of California as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1. ABC Adult School is committed to offering community-based enrichment classes designed to promote learning and social development and to improve the quality of life for students of all ages. We offer a diverse selection of workshops and classes designed for personal enrichment, professional development, and enhancing body and mind health. These classes are self-supporting and are not funded by taxpayer dollars.

The Adult School will make every effort to get a substitute (there will be no make-up classes) for community-based classes that are cancelled due to teacher illness or personal need. It may not be possible to find a substitute. If the class is cancelled for any reason, there will be no refunds, no make ups, or vouchers given. There will be no class for the following dates: 11/11, 11/21, 11/22, 11/23, 11/24, 11/25, 12/23, 12/26, 12/27, 12/28, 12/29, 12/30, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/16. There will be no evening classes on 10/31. Fees will not be adjusted for any class that falls on a holiday. Online Internet-Based Home Study A minimum reading level is required to qualify for Internet-Based Home Study. H igh school diploma students can complete most of their course work at home, using Internet-based online classes. GED/HiSET/TASC preparation students can review English, math, social studies and science via online courses, (limited enrollment is available). Students should plan to devote a minimum of five hours weekly to their online course work. A credentialed teacher is available during office hours by phone, email, and in person for assistance with course content or to troubleshoot technical problems. A final, in-person exam is required for all online courses (except GED/HiSET/TASC preparation).
English as a Second Language We have English classes in the morning, afternoon, and evening, for all levels from beginning to advanced. Enrollment is open all year, but space is limited. Don’t wait any longer!
