Quezon National High school (QNHS) still pushes students to wear facemask even after the Department of Education (DepEd) announced that wearing of facemask in indoor and outdoor setting is optional in line with President Ferdinand "Bong bong" Marcos Jr.’s Excecutive Order No. 7 scrapping the mask mandate. Before face-to-face classes resumed on November 3, Michael Poa, DepEd Spokesperson, proclaimed that the use of facemask is optional. “Schools may immediately implement optional masking indoors pursuant to E0 7”, he said. Elvie Ranchez, school nurse, said that they still encourage students to wear mask since COVID-19 and other airborne diseases is still everywhere. Rheena-Ann D. Padilla, senior high school campus nurse designate, said that, “If you are sick, it’s either you don’t come to school or wear a mask”. To further encourage every student to wear facemask, it is one of the criteria in the cleanest and healthiest room contest which started last January.
Survey says ‘turon’ is the most favorite food of learners in the school canteen.

Earthquake drill needs improvement BFP BY EUNESE L. PANER
The Municipality of Quezon Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has lauded the successful conduct of the 1st quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) but emphasized that there is still room for improvement, March 10. While the senior high school received a perfect score, the BFP identified several areas of concern in the main campus and new building. The BFP noted that students in the main campus did not wait for the alarm system to stop before evacuating, and some did not show urgency in their movements. In the new building, students on the fourth floor encountered difficulty in going out of the building mainly because of unestablished route for each class. PAGE 3
