Welcome to Term 2 2026

Welcome to our term of Moral Courage

“The most courageous act is still to think for yours elf. Aloud.”
– COCO CHANEL

We can’t wait for our students to join us back on campus for the first day of Term 2 on Tuesday 21 April. Hopefully, everyone returns refreshed and full of energy after the break, ready to explore their Moral Courage, which is our focus for the next 10 weeks.

Moral Courage, by our definition, is demonstrated by standing up for what is right, even in the face of personal discomfort, to defend our College values, address injustice, and promote inclusion, healthy friendships and belonging.

In Term 2, we will be encouraging students to Choose Courage Over Comfort by:

• Celebrating each other’s unique gifts, talents, personalities, traits and achievements.

• Initiating difficult conversations respectfully, instead of avoiding an issue or talking about it with people it doesn’t concern – or worse, talking about people behind their backs.

• Expressing, respectfully, what you think, feel or believe to be true, even when that goes against popular opinion, and being open to listening to contrary views.

• Asking for and accepting help when you’re out of your depth, or in any situation really – two heads are almost always better than one!

• Standing up for and offering support to those who are not being treated fairly or kindly, both face-to-face and online.

The team is excited to further develop this important aspect of Emotional and Social Intelligence in our students through Compass Groups and Chapel sessions throughout the term, along with our annual Autumn Family Festival celebrating diversity on Thursday 23 April (Week 1).

Finally, we look forward to welcoming students and families to our Community Open Day to celebrate the official opening – and name reveal – of Grey House Precinct on Saturday 23 May.

Wishing all students and families an exciting term ahead, choosing courage over comfort and embracing a range of new experiences to learn and grow.

Student Travel to Pymble

Student Travel to Pymble

Pymble Ladies’ College encourages families to choose sustainable and active travel options for the school journey. With excellent access to public transport and a safe, supervised walking route from the train station, students can confidently walk or catch a bus or train to Pymble. Our comprehensive Travel Access Guide highlights these green travel choices and offers practical tips to help families plan a safe, convenient and environmentally responsible commute to and from the College.

PYMBLE BUS SERVICE

The College has five dedicated bus services to help parents avoid the peak-hour commute when transporting students to and from the campus. This service is open to students from Kindergarten to Year 12. The current routes are:

Bus Route 1 – Hunters Hill *Refer to timetable for changes to Lane Cove stops*

Bus Route 2 – Lower North Shore

Bus Route 3 – North West

Bus Route 4 – Northern Beaches

Bus Route 5 – Lower Northern Beaches *Refer to timetable for changes and a new Freshwater stop*

Registration for the Pymble bus service is offered on a termby-term basis with two options:

• Term registrations are valid for a whole term.

• Flexible registrations enable students to register for specific day(s) with a choice of morning and/or afternoon runs.

PYMBLE MINIBUS SERVICE

The College is pleased to continue with the free West Pymble and Turramurra trial minibus service in Term 2 2026. This service is open to students from Kindergarten to Year 12. This complimentary initiative supports the continuation of our Green Travel Plan by reducing traffic congestion around the College and is aimed at local students who live relatively close to the school; too far to walk but too close to drive.

The minibus will operate mornings and afternoons throughout Term 2 2026. The minibus will drop off and pick up from Kelso Field bus bay at Gate 2 along with the other bus services.

Service Routes

• Route 1: North Wahroonga, Wahroonga, North Turramurra, Turramurra and Pymble

• Route 2: Wahroonga, South Turramurra, Turramurra and West Pymble

Please look out for a MyPymble notification advising when registration will open for the bus service for Term 2. The bus service will run from Tuesday 21 April until Friday 26 June 2026.

Updated Payment Procedure for Archie’s and Jacaranda Cafés

From Tuesday 28 April, Week 2, Term 2, Archie’s and Jacaranda Cafés will accept Student ID cards only, with a linked Flexischools account. Student credit cards and other payment methods will no longer be accepted. Parents and visitors can continue using their cards.

Each Student ID card includes recorded food allergen information. When scanned, café staff are automatically alerted to any food allergens and intolerances.

WHAT FAMILIES NEED TO KNOW Student ID cards

All students must have a Student ID card to make purchases. If a card is lost or misplaced, students can visit the IT Hub for a replacement or email helpdesk@pymblelc.nsw.edu.au

A $15 replacement fee applies.

Traffic and Parking

Pymble teaching and security staff supervise our busy dropoff and pick-up zones and carpark bays to ensure the safety of our community on and around our carparks and roads. We rely on drivers to follow the rules, drive safely and model positive traffic behaviour.

A reminder that Gate 2 is off limits to all pedestrians.

Refer to pages 7 and 8 in our Travel Access Guide for a full guide on safe and orderly travel by car, and drop-off and pick-up procedures.

PARKING IN AND AROUND THE COLLEGE

We encourage, when possible, our students and families to use public transportation when travelling to and from Pymble and visiting for College events or meetings. We appreciate the support of our families to keep our students and community safe.

We rely on drivers to follow the rules, drive safely and model positive traffic behaviour.

TRIVIA NIGHT

Junior School Welcome

We are excited to welcome our girls and families back to Term 2.

This term we will focus on kindness to others and I am proud of the girls’ continued commitment to acts of kindness in their homes and local community. Our Kindness Leaders have set our Junior School the challenge of completing 1000 acts of service this term. If each girl undertakes two acts of kindness to others, we’ll surpass this goal! Please encourage your daughter to look through the service journal she will be given and choose a couple of ways she can commit to service in your home or local community this term. It’s also not too late to sign up to join our team for the Lindfield Fun Run on Sunday 24 May 2026! We had a big team last year and we’re hoping to have even more this year.

We’re getting very excited for the Autumn Family Festival on Thursday 23 April. Many of our girls have been busy throughout Term 1 planning and creating products to sell at this festival for a maximum price of $2 with all proceeds going to support our 8 Kindergarten friends in East Meru Primary School, Tanzania. Thank you to all our families who are busy supporting their daughters behind the scenes in preparation for this event. We also have girls performing music or dance throughout the evening and I look forward to cheering them all on in their performances and entrepreneurial endeavours.

Another highlight of Term 2 will be our Year 1 – 2 Showcase on 19 June 2026. There is plenty of wizardry and magic to be seen in this year’s showcase and the Year 1- 2 girls’ courage in stepping up as performers is admirable and they’re hard at work rehearsing and looking forward to sharing their talents and teamwork with you all.

Week 8 brings our Years 3-6 Athletics Carnival, a chance for our girls to bring their House spirit as they compete in the many Events and cheer one another on.

We look forward to welcoming our mums and special female role models to our annual Mother’s Day event Friday 8 May 12.30pm - 2.30pm and where we will display the outstanding artworks created by our girls for our Courage and Kindness art competition.

It promises to be an exciting term and we look forward to continuing to work in partnership with you as the girls embrace each opportunity for learning and growth.

Middle School Welcome

Welcome back to Middle School for Term 2. I trust that our families have had a great Easter and that the break has provided opportunities for the girls to refresh and renew, ahead of what will be an exciting term. Now that our Year 7s have had time to settle in, we will be inviting them to apply for formal leadership positions. A variety of portfolios will be on offer: Middle School Leaders, Community Service Leaders, Environment Leaders, House Leaders, Intercultural Leaders, Community Service Leaders and Chapel Leaders. We will launch these opportunities in Week 1. Our Year 12 Middle School Liaison Prefects will be running application writing and interview skills workshops at the same time in order to build student confidence when applying.

Year 8 will be heading out for their Outdoor Education program at Somerset on the Colo River in Week 6. This experience promises to be a lot of fun and an opportunity to broaden connections and build resilience and independence. We will also be inviting our Year 8 students to apply for a National Exchange experience in Term 2. The exchange will take place in Term 3. The girls can select to travel to partner schools in Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia or South Australia. National Exchange has been an important part of our Middle School program for many years and I encourage the girls to step up to embrace this growth opportunity.

These are just a selection of Term 2 Events- there will be many more to share. We are looking forward to welcoming the girls back to campus on Tuesday 21 of April in their full winter uniform. Thanks for working with us to ensure the weeks ahead are full of exciting challenges and rewarding achievements.

Upper School Welcome

Welcome back to Term 2. I hope the Easter break provided an opportunity for rest and time with family.

The term ahead promises a rich and engaging experience for our Year 9 and 10 students. A key focus will be supporting our girls as they continue to develop a strong sense of direction and purpose in their learning. This term, our Year 10 cohort will take part in a Careers Day, where they will engage with the Morrisby Assessment to explore their strengths, interests and potential pathways. Students will also hear from a range of professionals sharing insights into their career journeys, as they begin to consider subject selections for Year 11.

Our Mind Body Spirit (MBS) program will continue to play an important role this term. In Compass Curriculum, Year 9 students will focus on developing their social awareness and relationship skills, including navigating social pressures, establishing personal boundaries, and resolving conflict. Year 10 students will also commence the Ivy House Programme, designed to build their confidence, resilience and leadership.

Experiential learning opportunities will once again be a highlight. We look forward to welcoming our second group of Year 9 students to Vision Valley, where they will participate in the residential program alongside students from Churchie, Brisbane. Year 10 students will also engage in a range of optional co-educational afternoon activities with Knox Grammar School,

including volleyball, ultimate frisbee and service-based opportunities.

Service remains a central theme in Upper School. We thank families for their ongoing support of the annual Undie Drive in partnership with Days for Girls, and encourage continued contributions throughout the term. Later in the term, selected Year 10 students will participate in the AIM (Advocacy, Immersion, Mission) initiative at St Edmund’s College, Wahroonga, further strengthening their understanding of service and community engagement.

For Term 2, we are pleased to welcome back Ms Gina Ventura (Head of Year 9) and Mr Adam Levin (Head of Year 10) from leave. They will join Mr Ray Howells (Head of Year 9) and Ms Cara Foley (Head of Year 10) to provide strong support and guidance for our girls.

Finally, I encourage you to revisit the uniform standards on page 5 to discuss this with your daughter to ensure our expectations continue to be upheld throughout the term.

We look forward to working in partnership with you to support and guide our girls through a purposeful and rewarding Term 2.

Senior School Welcome

Welcome back to Term 2. As we begin the term, we are reminded that progress is rarely about dramatic change or sudden breakthroughs. As Robert Collier wisely observes, “Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.” This idea sits at the heart of what we hope for our students this term. Growth comes not simply from new experiences but from the steady commitment to keep showing up, to keep trying and to approach each day with purpose and intention.

We encourage all our students to return with a quiet confidence. It is important that the girls believe that they are prepared to build on what they have already begun, to deepen their thinking and to continue developing a strong sense of self-belief. It is through these consistent efforts, over time, that meaningful learning and personal growth take shape.

Term 2 is already shaping up to be an eventful and vibrant time in the Senior School. The Athletics Carnival is just around the corner, offering a wonderful opportunity for students to challenge themselves, contribute to House spirit and take part in friendly competition. These moments remind us that success is not only measured in outcomes but in the willingness to participate, to persist and to support one another.

Our Year 5/11 Mentoring program also continues this term. Through regular conversations and shared experiences, these relationships grow steadily, enriching both mentor and mentee while strengthening the fabric of our school community.

For our Year 12 students, the upcoming Trivia Night promises an evening of connection, laughter and celebration. Similarly, our Senior School Knit-In offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to others through the work of Wrap with Love. This initiative reflects the power of small, collective efforts to make a genuine difference in the lives of others.

We begin Term 2, with a shared understanding that growth is built over time, through effort, reflection, self awareness and perseverance. We encourage our girls to approach the weeks ahead with determination and openness, to keep building on their strengths, and to recognise that each small step forward matters. It is through this steady commitment that they will grow, both as learners and as individuals.

Just as importantly, this term offers a valuable opportunity to strengthen our culture of inclusion and connection across the Senior School. We encourage our students to look outwards: to welcome others, to deepen friendships and to ensure that every girl feels a genuine sense of belonging. It is through these everyday acts of kindness, respect and inclusion that our community is strengthened, and where each student is able to thrive.

Boarding School Welcome

We are delighted to welcome our Boarders and families back for Term 2. With our Boarding Prefects’ theme, ‘2026 Boarders in the Mix’, as our headline, there is much to look forward to with friendship, fun, learning, service and new experiences shared across our Boarding family.

With many of our Boarders staying with us over the ANZAC Day weekend, there will be a special opportunity to attend the Dawn Service together and honour our Armed Forces. The following weekend is Community Weekend, a lovely chance to come together, reconnect and enjoy the spirit of Boarding. From our much loved Saturday night dance-off to Sunday Chapel and brunch with our friends from the Pymble and Gordon Uniting Church congregation, it will be a joyful weekend of connection and community.

A bumper Love It program will include adventures to Taronga Zoo, Vivid, the Balmoral Burn and much more. We will also celebrate the First Nations Round of Sport, which is always a special opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate our First Nations students. There will be adventures, beautiful walks, opportunities to spend time with other schools, and the return of Boarders Get Baking. Alongside this, the Live It and Learn It programs will continue to support our Boarders as they prepare for life beyond Pymble.

National Boarders’ Week is always a highlight, and this year’s theme, ‘Threads of Connection’, will come to life through a fun program of activities celebrating all things Boarding. Highlights will include the annual Day Girls versus Boarders sporting matches, assembly presentations and, of course, a celebration of all things pink.

And, it’s not just fun for our Boarders, there is a Parent event on 15 May and regional gatherings in Young, Dubbo and Wagga Wagga. Information will be sent in the coming weeks with details of timings and venues.

There is so much to look forward to, and we can’t wait to get started. I look forward to seeing you from 2.00pm on Monday 20 April.
