So much to do, so little time!

Welcome to a new and exciting year of the Love It program! Embrace and enjoy a program of fun and fulfilling activities that have been put together especially for you. We want everyone to participate, get the most out of what is on offer and, most importantly, have fun.

In this booklet, you will find a wide range of activities planned for the upcoming term, but if none of them tickle your fancy, please don’t hesitate to put forward your own suggestions so that we can make them happen.

Week 1

FRIDAY 30 JANUARY TO SUNDAY 1 FEBRUARY

WHAT Community Weekend

Get ready for an action-packed and super fun start to the year with our first Community Weekend.

Friday

• After School – 3.30pm: Kick off the weekend with a fire drill and induction to ensure everyone is prepared.

• Evening – 6.00pm: We’ll come together for a delicious barbecue dinner, followed by the eagerly awaited New Girls’ Concert.

Saturday

• Morning: Enjoy a delightful breakfast in the house followed by sports trials

• Afternoon – 12.00pm Refuel with a satisfying lunch.

• Afternoon to Evening – 12.30pm to 5.00pm: The amazing Sydney adventure is upon us again, exploring the city’s landmarks, catching a train, bus, and ferry, and capturing memorable moments along the way in our Spirit House groups.

Sunday

• All Day: Immerse yourself in the thrilling water slides and excitement at Raging Waters Sydney. It’s a day packed with aquatic adventures and fun under the sun.

Angus Cup points are up for grabs all weekend long, so give it your all and make this Community Weekend one to remember!

Week 2

FRIDAY 6 FEBRUARY

WHAT Boarders Get Baking – it’s back!

Get set for another term of fabulous food with our very own domestic Goddess, Mrs Wiedemann in our beautiful Food Technology room. What will be on the menu? You will have to wait and see! Be sure to bring your own requests for future baking afternoons.

WHAT Year 11 Balmoral Beach Picnic

Enjoy an evening at one of Sydney’s cleanest and most idyllic harbour beaches. Find a shady spot, lap up the gorgeous scenery and watch the time go by. If it gets too hot, take a dip in the netted swimming area, or enjoy an ice cream at the local café. The kitchen will be packing up a delicious meal for you to enjoy the beachside.

SATURDAY 7 FEBRUARY

WHAT Hit the Shops

This is a chance to stock up on school supplies and all those bits and pieces that you’ve thought would assist you. We’ll be travelling to Hornsby by train and will provide opportunity for our new Boarding sisters to find their bearings. You will be able to top up your Opal card or buy a new one if needed.

SUNDAY 8 FEBRUARY

WHAT Adventure to Watsons Bay for a Picnic Lunch

Catch the train to Circular Quay, jump on a ferry and head off to the iconic Watsons Bay. Home to the famous Doyles fish and chips restaurant, grab a takeaway lunch and sit in the park, swim in one of the harbour beaches or walk up to the Gap, a famous Sydney lookout.

WHAT Year 7 Balmoral Beach Picnic

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate your first year at Boarding school than heading down to Balmoral Beach with your friends and a kitchen-packed picnic to enjoy an evening dip in the iconic beach baths. Perhaps you would even like to check out Clontarf to be a little different from the other year groups! Clontarf is wildly popular and a family favourite to enjoy the calm waters for a twilight swim.

SATURDAY 14 FEBRUARY

WHAT Become a Golf Pro

This is probably not what you were thinking for a Saturday evening activity, but based on the last golf adventure, we promise this will be lots of fun. Jump on the bus, head to the local driving range and hone your swing and accuracy, all ready to learn the joys of golfing.

WHAT Central Coast Aqua Park

Climb aboard the Central Coast’s most exhilarating inflatable attraction at Central Coast Aqua Park! Perfect for all ages, the funfilled water park will take you on a non-stop adventure through the Gosford waterfront. Get ready for an excitement filled adventure on the inflatable activity park and obstacle courses.

WHAT Lunar New Year Celebrations!

We will celebrate Lunar New Year with games and a banquet dinner. Celebrate the Year of the Snake which symbolises wisdom and transformation.

FRIDAY 20 FEBRUARY

WHAT Boarders Get Baking – it’s back!

Join Mrs Wiedemann for an afternoon of fun and baking with your Boarding sisters. Put on your aprons and roll up your sleeves as the ingredients are laid out on the benches ready for all our baking Boarders.

WHAT Boarding Family Friends Pizza and Movie Night

As many of our Boarding parents return to Sydney to catch up at the College Icebreaker event, we will be opening the Boarding House to family friends of our Boarders. We welcome the day girls over to enjoy pizza and a movie while the parents mingle. This is always a great opportunity for our Boarding and day girl families to meet prior to Icebreaker.

SATURDAY 21 FEBRUARY

WHAT Chinese New Year Festival

Celebrate the year of the Horse with the festival in Chatswood. Explore the street stalls and activities, enjoying cultural performances and food around The Concourse and Victoria Ave.

SUNDAY 22 FEBRUARY

WHAT Balls Head and Berry Island

Take in the natural beauty of Sydney Harbour on a scenic bushwalk winding through native bushland and uncovering stunning harbour views along the way. Aboriginal rock carvings can be spotted through Badangi Reserve and Berry Island. The length of the walk will be adjusted to suit the weather, ensuring a safe and enjoyable adventure.

WHAT Boarders Get Baking – it’s back!

Fill the Food Tech room with the home comforts of baking special treats that you long for. Be sure to follow the recipe to bake your favourite treats to share with your Boarding sisters.

WHAT Year 8 Balmoral Beach Picnic

Experience a delightful evening at one of Sydney’s most pristine and picturesque harbor beaches. Discover a tranquil spot, immerse yourself in the stunning scenery, and savor the passing time. If the temperature rises, indulge in a refreshing swim within the netted swimming area or treat yourself to an ice cream at the nearby café. Our kitchen will be preparing a delectable meal for you to relish right by the beach.

Social

WHAT Year 7 Games Night with Ascham

An opportunity for our Year 7 Boarders to meet and mingle with the Year 7 Ascham Boarders. Enjoy an evening of games and fun connecting with other Boarders.

WHAT Get your chocolate fix at Max Brenner

Prepare yourself for the best dessert destination and experience chocolate with all your senses as we visit Max Brenner Chocolate Bar, followed by some retail therapy in the city.

SUNDAY 1 MARCH

WHAT Beach Day – Wylie’s Baths and the Coogee Coastal Walk

Wylie’s Baths is a heritage-listed tidal swimming pool located near Coogee Beach, in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. The baths are noted for holding the first Australian Swimming Championships and for being one of the first swimming baths for mixed-gender swimming in Australia.

FRIDAY 6 MARCH

WHAT Boarders Get Baking

As we’re over halfway through the term what a great time to head to Boarder’s Get Baking to enjoy some Friday afternoon baking. Let your hard work from the week be rewarded with special treats maybe a little mars bar slice.

WHAT International Women’s Day (IWD) Celebration

We will celebrate IWD on Marden Lawn with an evening of activities and fun after dinner.

SATURDAY 7 MARCH

WHAT AFL – Giants vs Hawthorn

Support the Giants as they take on the Hawks. Whether you’re an AFL fan or not come and enjoy the atmosphere in the stadium. Go the Giants!

WHAT Big Sister Little Sister Sleepover

What a great time for our Big and Little Sisters to enjoy time together with a weekend sleepover at Vision Valley. The night promises to be lots of fun as our sisters participate in activities and build stronger connections.

WHAT Mega Skate at Macquarie Ice

Located within Macquarie Shopping Centre, there will probably be some time for a little look around the shops, too! It is the only facility in Sydney to provide a full-size Olympic rink so you can channel your inner Torvill and Dean (ask your parents!).

FRIDAY 13 MARCH

WHAT Boarders Get Baking

Share in the fun of baking with your Boarding sisters and head down to the Food Tech rooms. Enjoy a lovely drink in preparation for an afternoon of creative wonder and sweet treat.

WHAT Year 12 Fish and Chips at Mona Vale

Ready to cool down after a long, hot week? Let’s head down to Mona Vale and enjoy the last of daylight savings and some fish and chips on the beach.

SATURDAY 14 MARCH

WHAT Bushwalk - Sheldon Forest

Stay local and take a walk on the Sheldon Forest Track from Pymble to Turramurra. Be amazed by the Blue Gum High Forest and Sydney Turpentine Ironbark Forest, two endangered plant communities. Finish the walk in Turramurra with a nice cool drink or ice cream.

Enjoy a relaxed and rewarding afternoon in the Food Tech rooms, turning simple ingredients into tasting delights. As you bake, share the laughs and conversation with others to start off the weekend.

Indulge in an evening of relaxation at one of Sydney’s cleanest and most picturesque harbor beaches. Discover a shady oasis, soak in the breathtaking scenery, and let time slip away. If the heat becomes too much, take a refreshing dip in the netted swimming area or treat yourself to an ice cream from the local café. Our kitchen is set to prepare a mouthwatering meal for you to enjoy right by the beach.

Support the Waratahs as they take on the Blues in what should be a good battle between the two teams. Dress up in your Tahs supporter gear and warm up your voices to cheer them on.

SUNDAY 22 MARCH

WHAT Balmoral Swim for Cancer

Can we top this record in 2026? This is an excellent social opportunity for Boarders as we compete against Shore, Queenwood, Ascham, Wenona, Redlands and Riverview. Get a team of four swimmers together and come on down to Balmoral to join in the fun. You only have to swim 200 metres and remember the aim of the day is to raise money for charity.

WHAT Boarders Get Baking – Easter Treats

Paul and Heinz from Du Plessy Praline & Otello Chocolates

Patisserie in West Pymble will be our special guests for Boarders Get Baking. Come along for your chocolate fix and learn how to be a chocolatier.

Get ready to celebrate the end of term with a beautiful Chapel service and spectacular dinner. Of course, an Easter egg hunt is essential, too!

Enjoy a spirited afternoon of tennis on Mollie Dive. Games can be leisurely or competitive against other Boarders, Year 12 and maybe some staff.

WHAT Beach Day

Clontarf beach is part of Sydney’s Middle Harbour and is located around 5km from Manly. It is a great place to spend a day with the friends. The netted tidal pool is perfect for a dip. If you’re in the mood for a quick bite to eat, be sure to check out either of the two cafes near the park. Whether you’re after a fun-filled day or a relaxing afternoon, Clontarf Beach is the perfect spot.

BUILD YOUR OWN ADVENTURE

If you have an exciting activity in mind, get together with a group of friends and put together a proposal. Whether it’s a night out at a favourite restaurant, a trip to a local market or an inner-city expedition, get your ideas down on paper, suggest a date and we will do our best to make it happen.

ORGANISE A SLEEPOVER

We would love you to invite a friend from the Day School to stay over on a Friday or Saturday night. Propose some dates to your Head of House and make it happen!

OR BETTER STILL…

We would love you to invite up to two of your friends from the day school in for a pizza and movie night. Once again, propose some dates to your Head of House and make it happen!

AND, DON’T FORGET….

To join us for an egg and bacon roll on Marden Lawn each Sunday between 9:00am and 10:00am. Family and friends all welcome!

And every week….

BOARDERS GET BAKING

All of you seem to love baking and we know you LOVE yummy food. Take the opportunity to work with Mrs Wiedemann in our specialist Food Technology room and bake until your heart is content and your tummy is full. Each week she comes with interesting new recipes, from Mars Bar slice and brownies to Wallget’s famous Weet-Bix slice. Boarders Get Baking is the place to be on Friday afternoons.

CYCLE THE GROUNDS

We have bikes - sign them out and take them for a spin around campus. Ask House staff to show you the various routes and away you go!

AQUATIC CENTRE

Check the in-house timetable for the times the Aquatic Centre will be open to you this term.
