The Purdys Chocolatier Story Purdys Chocolatier’s story began in Vancouver in 1907, when founder Richard Carmon Purdy started selling his homemade chocolates. From the beginning, his focus was simple: use quality ingredients, craft chocolate with care, and people will taste the difference. Since 1963, Purdys Chocolatier has been proudly owned by the Flavelle family, now with the third generation involved in the business. Their long-term, family approach has helped shape Purdys Chocolatier into Canada’s chocolatier known for quality, connection, and joy.
