Carnavalito on the Road brings Latin American culture to Langley
Douglas Park in Langley will come alive with music, dance, food and family activities on September 6 as Carnavalito on the Road brings a free celebration of Latin American culture to the community.
Food lovers will also have plenty to choose from, with vendors serving popular Latin American favourites such as tacos, quesabirrias, empanadas, ceviche and arepas, along with other traditional and modern dishes.
Running from noon to 8:30 p.m., the outdoor festival will feature more than 60 artists and 40 vendors, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the diverse traditions, flavours and entertainment of Latin America.
“We love bringing our Latin American heritage on the road with the Carnavalito events,” said Latincouver Executive Director Paola Murillo. “We’re proud to offer the community a free celebration of culture, connection and tradition.”

Annual Nagar Kirtan to bring Sikh faith and community spirit to Abbotsford
ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — Abbotsford is preparing to welcome the annual Nagar Kirtan procession this Sunday, September 6, as members of the Sikh community come together to celebrate faith, devotion and the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The Nagar Kirtan will take place from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m., beginning and concluding at Gurdwara Sahib Kalgidhar Darbar at 30640 Blueridge Drive. The annual procession is held in September and features the transportation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji on a decorated float through the community, accompanied by the singing of devotional hymns. Everyone is welcome to attend the event. The Nagar Kirtan is an important occasion for the Sikh community, bringing people together in a spirit of devotion, service and community fellowship. Along the procession route, residents and visitors can witness Sikh religious traditions and experience the welcoming spirit of the community. The event also provides an opportunity for people of different backgrounds to learn more about Sikhism and its values, including equality, compassion, humility, service and sharing with others.
