Quentin Willson was a prominent motoring journalist and a familiar, trusted voice in the automotive world. From Top Gear and BBC2’s The Car’s The Star, to Fifth Gear and Britain’s Worst Driver, his work shaped how millions understood cars and driving. In his later years, Quentin became a vocal campaigner on fairer fuel prices and an early advocate for electric vehicles, bringing knowledge and credibility to an industry in transition.
GREENFLEET’S relationship with Quentin began at this very event, where he first presented the awards ceremony back in 2007. This marked the start of a long partnership that saw him host
GREENFLEET’s Arrive’n’Drive and regional roadshows, guiding fleets toward cleaner strategies with clarity. He returned as GREENFLEET’s awards host in 2014, when the first EV Champions were crowned.
Most recently, Quentin was a key part of Team Lex Autolease on GREENFLEET’s EV Rally, helping bring vital EV content to the masses with expertise and charm.
Quentin was a generous mentor who always made time for others. Here at GREENFLEET, we will miss him deeply.

In honour of the late Quentin Willson, GREENFLEET’s Award for Outstanding Achievement has been renamed the Quentin Willson Award for Outstanding Achievement.
Quentin, who passed away in November 2025 at the age of 68, was a long-standing collaborator with GREENFLEET and an early advocate for electric vehicles and low-emission motoring.
The newly named award will be presented to an organisation or individual that has been championing the decarbonisation agenda for years and has made excellent progress in reducing the environmental impact of their fleet, or have shown great innovation in transport decarbonisation.
Last year, the award was presented to EV adventurers Chris and Julie Ramsey, who completed a mammoth 21,000 miles from Pole to Pole in an electric Nissan Ariya. A world-first, the adventure pushed the capabilities of their electric vehicle to its limits to prove to the world that EVs are more than capable of long and demanding journeys.
The award winner will be announced on the night, and has no shortlist.

We want to make the transition from petrol fleet to EV fleet as painless as possible by simplifying your fleet’s charging process from both a practical and financial perspective:
• With access to the UK’s best public charging network with one card we can ensure smooth charging out of the road.
• You can pay for your drivers’ home charging by making one payment to Rightcharge, who then distributes funds to their home energy suppliers; employees are never out of pocket.
• Manage all your drivers’ electric vehicle charging in one dashboard, including public, workplace, and home charging.
• And if you get the right energy tariff then often it’s renewable energy you’re using to fill the kWh in your EV battery.

Paythru’s EV Payments Charter is a collaborative initiative that tackles one of the barriers to EV adoption: inconsistent and frustrating payment experiences at public charge points. By uniting CPOs, payment providers and industry bodies around a clear, user-centred framework, Paythru is driving systemic change in this crucial area.
Dawsongroup’s microgrid is a self-contained energy system that combines renewable sources, storage, and intelligent energy management. It reduces the company’s dependence on the grid, stabilises energy supply, and cuts costs, all while lowering carbon emissions. It also demonstrates how sustainability can be implemented in a commercially viable way.
Formed in 2024 as a joint venture, Flexis was created to revolutionise city logistics through purpose-built, fully electric vans and a complete ecosystem of connected fleet services. Its EV-native modular skateboard platform is developed entirely for electric performance. The Flexis Panel Van offers class-leading manoeuvrability with a turning circle of just 10.3 metres, matching that of the Renault Clio.
The Indraverse app from Indra Renewable Technologies is a UK-built platform that transforms EV fleet charging by seamlessly linking vehicles, drivers and energy providers. By optimising charging using green energy and automating reimbursements, Indraverse transforms EV charging from a basic utility into a fully integrated fleet solution.
