FAB FACTOR 2026 A Night of Unforgettable Talent
On Friday 13 March, the stage came alive with music, energy, and unforgettable performances as the FAB Factor 2026 showcased the incredible talent of 16 finalists The packed audience was treated to a dazzling variety of acts, from vocal solos and duets to a drum solo, a band performance, and even a clarinet and violin duet, along with stirring piano performances.
The evening was expertly hosted by Mr Bridle, whose humour and enthusiasm kept the audience engaged between acts. Meanwhile, the judging panel – Mrs Loch, Mr Gurung, Mrs Hawkes, and Mr Compton - faced the challenging task of selecting winners from such a high calibre of performances.
Highlights of the night included a variety of both upper school and lower school students showcasing their musical talents Duets and solo vocal performances filled the auditorium with emotion, energy, and sheer talent, proving that the FAB Factor stage is no place for the fainthearted.
The atmosphere was fantastic, with staff, families and friends coming together to support every performer A huge well done to all the students who had the courage to step onto the stage –the standard was incredibly high and the judges certainly had a difficult job!

A Night of Unforgettable Talent
After much deliberation, the judges crowned Lilly as the FAB Factor 2026 Champion, delivering a performance that moved the audience to tears - ending the programme on a high. The audience erupted in cheers as the winner received their well-deserved trophy, marking the culmination of a night filled with passion, creativity, and musical brilliance
The FAB Factor continues to be a celebration of both talent and community spirit, leaving everyone in attendance inspired and eagerly anticipating next year ’ s performances.

Careers Focus Women in Construction
A huge thank you to Ali, Leigh, Emma, Molly and Bobbi from VIVID for delivering an engaging and inspiring talk to our Year 11 students, focusing on the many pathways into the construction industry, particularly highlighting the growing opportunities available for women.
The session offered students valuable insight into the breadth of careers within construction. From architecture and engineering to quantity surveying and project management, as well as skilled trades such as plumbing and electrical work, students were able to explore the diverse roles that contribute to this dynamic sector. The speakers shared their own experiences, helping to bring these career paths to life and making them more accessible and relatable.
With over two million people employed in construction across the UK, yet women making up only around 15% of the workforce, the talk also emphasised the significant opportunities for young women to make their mark. Students were encouraged to see the industry not only as a viable career option, but as a space where they can lead, innovate, and help shape the future.
We are incredibly grateful to the team from VIVID for taking the time to share their knowledge and experiences, and for inspiring our students to think ambitiously about their future pathways.
Cultivating Community Hawley Community Gardens
On 16 March, a group of students had the wonderful opportunity to visit Hawley Community Gardens - a vibrant and inspiring local project.
Once the site of derelict garages, the space has been transformed into a thriving community garden.
Built on the organic principles of permaculture, it now produces a wide variety of fruit and vegetables, shared among its members. The garden stands as a powerful example of how neglected urban spaces can be reimagined into something both productive and meaningful.
Hawley Community Gardens is not only about growing food - it is about growing community. By bringing together people from British, Nepali, and many other backgrounds, the project fosters a strong sense of connection, inclusion, and shared purpose.
During the visit, students were given a guided tour of the different areas of the garden, including a bee bank, a bog pond, and a solar-powered composting toilet. They impressed staff with their ability to correctly identify a range of plants, showing both enthusiasm and knowledge throughout the experience.
This visit forms part of our wider aim to strengthen community links and help students understand the importance of giving back. Experiences like this encourage them to see the value of working collaboratively and engaging with local initiatives.
We hope this is just the beginning of an ongoing relationship with Hawley Community Gardensone that will give students further opportunities to learn about sustainability, community projects, and the impact of local engagement.
Explore, Experiment, Discover Science Week Highlights
Our school recently celebrated Science Week with a vibrant programme of engaging and inspiring activities designed to spark curiosity and deepen students’ understanding of the world around them.
Throughout the week, students took part in a variety of hands-on experiments and thoughtprovoking investigations, giving them the opportunity to explore scientific concepts in a practical and meaningful way
It was fantastic to see so many students actively involved, asking insightful questions, experimenting with enthusiasm, and demonstrating a genuine interest in discovery The energy and curiosity shown by our students made the week a great success, and they should be commended for their eagerness to learn and participate.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our science team, whose dedication and creativity ensured the week was both dynamic and enriching for all involved We hope that Science Week has inspired an even greater passion for the subject, encouraging students to continue exploring, questioning, and thinking like scientists long into the future.
The Scholars Graduation
The Brilliant Club ceremony at Oxford
In February, a group of our Scholars had the incredible opportunity to travel to the University of Oxford to attend their graduation ceremony - a truly proud and memorable milestone for Bohunt Farnborough.
The day marked the culmination of an inspiring academic journey, during which students took part in The Scholars Programme, delivered by The Brilliant Club. The programme is designed to provide students with a meaningful introduction to university-style learning and to encourage them to see higher education as an achievable and aspirational future pathway.
Over the course of six weeks, students were taught by a PhD researcher and engaged in a challenging STEM-focused project centred around the design and development of a city. This culminated in a 1,500-word academic essay, demonstrating both resilience and intellectual curiosity, before being celebrated at the graduation ceremony at Oxford.
A huge congratulations goes to Sofia, who achieved an outstanding First, as well as to all of our Scholars, who represented the school exceptionally well throughout the programme. Their commitment, maturity, and enthusiasm were evident at every stage, and they should be extremely proud of their achievements.
A special mention must also go to Finley, who delivered a speech expressing thanks for the programme and was awarded an honorary badge in recognition of his contribution - an exceptional accomplishment and a moment of real pride.
We are incredibly proud of every student who took part and look forward with excitement to seeing where their ambition, talent, and hard work will take them next.
Celebrating Success ERA Day!
On 25th March, Bohunt Farnborough celebrated student achievement with a dedicated reward day designed to recognise those who have consistently earned outstanding achievement points.
Students who had demonstrated excellent effort, attitude, and commitment to their learning were rewarded with an hour of fun in the Sports Hall This provided a well-deserved opportunity for students to relax, socialise, and enjoy a range of activities in a positive and energetic environment.
The celebrations began with Year 8, who made full use of the fantastic equipment on offer. The session was further enhanced with snacks and drinks, helping to create a lively and enjoyable atmosphere throughout.
The event was a fantastic way to acknowledge and celebrate student success across the school community, reinforcing the importance of positive engagement and hard work.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all members of staff who supported and helped organise the day, ensuring it ran smoothly and was enjoyed by all involved.
Sports Highlights
Spring Term
It has been an action-packed term across football, basketball, netball, volleyball, and cross country, with students representing the school with outstanding effort, teamwork, and determination throughout.
In football, both boys’ and girls’ teams enjoyed a series of competitive fixtures, with strong performances across all year groups. Several teams recorded impressive wins, particularly in early-season matches, while others showed great resilience in closely fought contests against strong opposition. Across the term, there were standout attacking displays, improved defensive organisation, and clear progress in teamwork and game understanding. Year groups also experienced valuable learning moments in challenging fixtures, helping to build confidence and development for future matches.
Sports Highlights continued... Spring Term
In basketball, teams across KS3, KS4, and KS5 showed real growth throughout the season. Many fixtures were tightly contested, with several narrow results reflecting how competitive the games were. Students demonstrated excellent attacking play, improving defensive structure, and strong team spirit. A number of teams also secured well-earned victories, showing clear progress from their first games to the end of the term.
Netball teams also made excellent strides, with players showing commitment, improvement, and increasing confidence on court. Across different year groups, students adapted well to lastminute changes, supported one another effectively, and continued to develop their understanding of match play. There were encouraging wins as well as challenging fixtures that provided valuable experience for future development.
In volleyball, students represented the school brilliantly at a Trust competition, showing great enthusiasm, teamwork, and clear progress across multiple matches Their attitude and energy throughout the day were outstanding.
Finally, in cross country, students tackled demanding conditions with determination and perseverance, completing a challenging course and securing a strong team finish.
Overall, it has been a fantastic term for sport, with students consistently demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and pride in representing the school.
