Jan. 17 | Officers responded to a death investigation at 12:05 a.m. in the 8400 block of Southard Road in Stokesdale (off N.C. 65). Jan. 17 | Officers responded to a death investigation at 9 a.m. in the 1800 block of Scalesville Road in Summerfield. Jan. 18 | Officers responded to a death investigation at 11:58 a.m. in the 8300 block of Witty Road in Summerfield. INJURED ANIMAL

Jan. 25 | A 37-year-old male was arrested in the 8100 block of Belews Creek Road/Ellisboro Road in Stokesdale for larceny and possession of stolen goods. THEFT
Jan. 17 | A resident of the 3000 block of Pleasant Ridge Road in Summerfield reported between Jan. 14 and Jan. 17 an unknown suspect stole from his residence a yellow/black DeWalt cordless impact drill and a yellow/black DeWalt power saw, worth $240 altogether. Jan. 17 | A manager at Tire Max in Summerfield reported between Jan. 14 and Jan. 17 an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converter off a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban and a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox; the converters were valued at $1,400 each. Jan. 17 | A customer at Bi-Rite Galaxy in Stokesdale reported between 10:40 and 11 a.m. an unknown suspect stole several tools valued at about $600 from his vehicle; the tools were later recovered. Jan. 19 | The owner of a house for sale in the 2000 block of Trosper Road in northwest Greensboro (off Lake Brandt Road) reported between Jan. 13 and Jan. 19 an unknown suspect stole three heat/AC ventilators and air pump units from the residence, worth $18,000 altogether; the stolen items were later recovered. Jan. 20 | A resident of the 7900 block of Lester Road in Stokesdale (off N.C. 68 N) reported between Jan. 18 and Jan. 20 an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a red Craftsman cordless drill set, a red Craftsman air compressor, one large and one small Buck knife, a silver dollar and $20 cash, worth $431 altogether.

Stokesdale Community Choir’s next concert will have a baseball theme and the group hopes to treat attendees to hot dogs, drinks, popcorn, etc. The choir often gives away prizes at their concerts and hosts a reception to thank those who join them.
