Capone’s Cellar joins More Rewards program Partnership benefits existing customers and new shoppers

Capone’s Cellar says customers have a new way to earn rewards on purchases, with Capone’s joining the More Rewards Loyalty Program. Owner Ryan Formosa says the company targeted a May 1 launch date for the partnership, which allows shoppers to collect points by scanning their More Rewards card at checkout. Customers who are not already members can sign up for the program at any time. The decision was driven by a desire to offer customers a stronger rewards option, according to Formosa. “The More Rewards Loyalty Program is easily the largest rewards program in British Columbia,” he explains. “We figured, what better way to support our customers than to partner with a program that will get them the most opportunity.” The More Rewards program is already connected to two of Powell River’s major grocery stores, which Formosa says gives local shoppers more opportunities to build points balances faster. Points can be redeemed for a range of options, including groceries, ferry travel, vacations and vehicles through Jim Pattison dealerships, as well as other rewards. The partnership is expected to benefit both existing customers and new shoppers. “We implemented our previous program to reward our existing customers and allow them to gain money back to spend in store, but the More Rewards program offers so much more,” says Formosa. “We’re also hoping that this will give other customers, who haven’t shopped with us before, the incentive to see what we have to offer. “When faced with two or more similar options, most customers are going to go with the one that allows them to build their points totals toward more rewards options.” Formosa says joining a larger rewards network allows small businesses to offer more flexibility than many smaller in-house programs.
