Cattleman’s Railjam returns BURTON Snowboards is pleased to announce the return of Australia’s premier rail event, the Burton Cattleman’s Railjam, happening in a brand new online format from Saturday, July 17 to Sunday August 1. After a hiatus in 2020, the country’s longest running snowboarding event will return as a web-based contest, with $16,000 worth of cash prizes up for grabs and for the first time since its inception, equal prize money for men and women. In its 15th instalment, this year’s contest will look a little different to years past, but with the same Cattleman’s spirit we’ve come to know and love. For a two-week period, riders will have the opportunity to ride a
Cattleman’s inspired feature in the Mt Buller Park and upload up to 10 tricks to the online Cattleman’s event hub. This year’s contest will take place on a brand-new Cattleman’s inspired park feature, specifically designed and built by the Mt Buller Parks team. The feature draws inspiration from the original stair set in the Mt Buller Village Square and includes multiple hit options including a down rail, down-flat-down and close out rail. The rail feature will be open daily from July 17 to July 31 in the Skyline Park, and the event is open to riders of all abilities and ages for the full twoweek period. “The idea with this new online format is that it offers the chance for snowboarders of all abilities to ride the
feature in their own time, at their own pace without the pressure of a crowd,” Burton Australia and New Zealand marketing and brand manager Paul Colby said. “Tricks will then be scored online by a panel of judges, with a rider’s top five tricks amounting to their overall score.” At the end of the two-week period, the top three men and top three women’s scores will make up the 2021 Cattleman’s Railjam podium and take home a share of $16,000 in prize money, with an additional cash prize for Best Trick (1st place $4000; 2nd place $2000; 3rd place $1000; Best Trick $1000). Burton is proud to partner with Clippero as the official event platform
for the Cattleman’s event. The Clippero hub offers the ability for users to easily upload and submit videos, watch other entries, read rules and view leaderboards - all from your smartphone or desktop. Entry terms and conditions apply. Full rules and details for the event are available at clippero.com/ burtonaustralianz. Burton is also proud to be continuing their partnership with Pirate Life Brewing who will be hosting the official Cattleman’s Après Drinks on August 1 at Smokehouse Mt Buller, where winners will be announced live online. Burton Cattleman’s Railjam partners include Burton Snowboards, Pirate Life, anon, and Mt Buller.
