Camping grounds are already filling with keen campers getting out and nabbing their spots prior to the huge influx this week. Lake Eildon is sitting at almost 88 per cent full with an average inflow of 1500 megalitres a day which means there will be even more water for fun. The bike trails are ready to go with the Great Victorian Rail Trail being maintained and giving great riding experiences.

On Mt Buller and Mt Stirling upgrading trail works are being carried out and mountain bikers are promised a great ride whichever path they choose. New Year’s Eve will be a big event both on Mt Buller and in Mansfield with music, dinners and entertainment across the district. Daytime activities for the whole family include a visit to the Mansfield Zoo on Jamieson Road, the High

Country Maze and Art Gallery at Gough’s Bay, spend time at the Mini Golf venue in High Street, take a walk around town and view some of the historic buildings. While out walking venture into the wetlands starting at the Visitor Information Centre; view the amazing bird and wildlife in the wetlands. Take a picnic at the Botanic Park and let the kids enjoy the new

playground - it is amazing. Of course there are plenty of places to grab a meal, dine out in style or pack a picnic lunch. For full information on what to do and where to go around Mansfield visit the Mansfield Visitor Information Centre - open from 10am to 4pm daily. Inside this issue of High Country Alive you will find things to do, places to visit and fun to be had.
