Soccer

We are proud member of the NFL Flag Program, which is the premier flag football league for boys and girls! This league is geared towards building self confidence in kids, teaching kids age appropriate skills while staying active and having FUN! Participants will love wearing the same gear as the pros, with the officially licensed NFL Jerseys! This is a non-contact league, with the emphasis on safety. Best of all, everyone plays!

League

The intent of the Youth Soccer League is to provide a fun, recreational experience that teaches youth the fundamentals of soccer, sportsmanship, leadership, and team building. All players will be issued a game jersey and are required to wear shin guards, high socks, and appropriate footwear. Teams will be formed based on prior experience to promote fair and enjoyable play for all participants. Teams will also be organized by birth year and gender, with some age groups merged if needed to complete a division. No jewelry of any kind is allowed.

Youth Volleyball

This is a recreational coed volleyball league for boys and girls. Practices will take place on weekdays at Prosser Middle School. Games will be held on weekends, with some away games within a 60-minute drive from Prosser. This program provides a fun, supportive, and relaxed environment for participants to develop their volleyball skills and improve their overall game.

International Soccer Camp

Tiny Tykes:

Celebrate the excitement of the FIFA World Cup year with our Challenger Sports Soccer Camps! Led by international and U.S.-based coaches, these week-long half-day, full-day or Tiny Tykes camps use British training methodology and global coaching techniques to help players develop their skills in a fun, positive, and age-appropriate environment. Campers build confidence, character, and a love for the game while learning core values such as responsibility, integrity, respect, sportsmanship, and leadership.

This is more than just a camp it’s a global soccer experience that reflects the passion and energy of the world’s game. Complete technical player development featuring practices from around the world and side games. Emphasis is placed upon improving individual dribbling, passing, control, shooting, with specific focus on personal skill development, character development, and cultural education.

Full Day Camp:

This 6-hour-per-day camp is split into two blocks, with a supervised lunch break from 12:00–1:00 PM for rest and recovery (packed lunch required). The full-day program builds on the Half Day experience, offering a balanced mix of fun activities, larger-sided games for tactical development, and individual skill elements such as freestyle. Emphasis is placed on improving dribbling, passing, control, and shooting, with a strong focus on personal skill development, character growth, and cultural education.

Pickleball:

A cross between ping pong and tennis, Pickleball is a paddle sport for all ages(18 and over) and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. Please wear non marking gym shoes.

Membership cost is $15.00 for a 1-year. This includes everything below plus discounts we have graciously received through the businesses in our community. We are on Facebook and write weekly articles in the Prosser Record Bulletin.

Pool & Air Hockey

We play Monday through Friday from 9am 1pm. We would Love to see more members come in to play so we can get a team ready for a tournament. Membership Required.

Qigong Club

Monday evenings from 7pm 8pm. This is a class were members can practice together and share moves they have learned regarding the art. Membership Required.

Mah Jongg

Tuesdays from 1pm 3pm. If you wish to learn or need a refresher, please come and we will be happy to teach you. Membership Required.

Crafts

Tuesday mornings 9:30am 11:30, we are working on a craft project. These projects are a variety of crafts. The cost will vary depending on the project. If you have any projects that you might teach or know of a person that can teach, feel free to bring it to our attention. Membership Required.

Circle of Support

This is a Grief Support Group that is in conjunction with Lower Valley Hospice and the Senior Center. It is open to the public. This group meets on the

2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month from 1pm 2pm. You are welcome to join at anytime.

Cards & Games

Monday and Thursday afternoons at 12:30pm, a variety of card games and/or card games played.

Gentle Fitness

Mondays & Fridays fro 9am 9:45am. This incorporates reaching, lifting, and bending to enhance mobility and balance. Membership Required.

Quilting Group

Thursdays beginning at 10am. Bring projects you want to work on. Membership Required.

Chair Yoga

Friday beginning at 10am. You can use a chair or not; it’s up to you. The goal is to improve muscle tone and strength. The Cost is by donation Membership Required.

Game Night

Last Friday of the month at 5pm and continues until whenever we are ready to call it a night. Bring a snack to share.

Pinochle

Mondays & Thursdays, 12:30pm 3 pm. Come and have fun while working the brain a little! Pinochle is a trick-taking card game typically for two to four players and played with a 48-card deck. Membership Required.

The Prosser Senior Citizen’s Club presents:

Daytime Bingo: Wednesday mornings at 9:00am–10:30am. We play with hard cards, 3 cards for $1.00 which you get a door prize ticket with that as well. The prizes for these Bingo’s are household items. Open to the public.

Nighttime Bingo: the first Friday of every month. The doors open at 5pm and Bingo begins at 6pm. Adults play for cash and kids for gift prizes . The cost is $10.00 Buy-In, special games can be purchased if available (cash only). By gambling law requirements, all children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by adults. Children 12 and under can play on hard cards FREE for prizes. We have meals and drinks available for purchase. No outside food is allowed. Come and help support our program! Open to the public! Community Breakfast

This is open to the community and is a monthly fundraiser that the Prosser Senior Citizen’s Club has done for years and years. The menu is pancakes, eggs and ham or a breakfast casserole and fruit. Occasionally, we change things up though just to have variety.

Group Swim Lessons

Now is the perfect time to learn to swim or build on existing skills. Group lessons are available for all skill levels and for children ages 3 and up (must be potty-trained). A minimum of 4 participants per class is required, and class sizes are limited, early registration is strongly encouraged to avoid cancellations and to secure your spot.

Swimming can be a calming, therapeutic, and enjoyable activity for people of all ages and abilities. For individuals with sensory sensitivities, including those with autism or other special needs, the water can provide a soothing, lowstimulation environment that feels safe and freeing. For seniors, swimming offers a gentle, lowimpact way to stay active, relaxed, and connected.

The Recreation Department has designated special swim hours for Sensory Swim and Seniors (55+), creating a quieter, more comfortable environment away from the noise and bustle of regular open swim. This time allows participants and families to enjoy the pool in a peaceful, welcoming setting designed for comfort, accessibility, and relaxation.

AQUATICS SWIM LESSONS

Swim Lessons Levels

Level 1 - Minnows (Ages 3 years - 6 years)

Class Requirement: On the first day of class, students must be able to function well in a group setting without parents.

Class Objectives: Students learn water-adjustment skills. Students will be introduced to water entry, front and back floating, kicking, bobbing, blowing bubblesand arm strokes.

Level 2 - Guppies (Ages 4 years - 7 years)

Class Requirement: On the first day of class, students must be able to enter water, front and back float without support, kick, blow bubbles and do arm strokes.Parents donotaccompanychildren.

Class Objectives: Students are already water adjusted. Students must be able to submerge for three seconds and float on their front and back without support. Students will be introduced to basic swimming skills: front and back glides, kicking, arm stokes onfront and backand rhythmic breathing.

Level 3 - Otters (Ages 5 years - 8 years)

Class Requirement: On the first day of class, students must be able to use basic swimming skills including front and back glides, kicking, arm strokes on front and back and rhythmic breathing. Parents do notaccompanystudents.

Class Objectives: Students can already swim a combined stroke on the front and back, using a kick and arm stroke for a minimum of five yards. Students will be introduced to back crawl, elementary backstroke kick, treading water and rhythmic breathing. Students will also work on improving their front crawl.

Level 4- Barracudas (Ages 6 years - 9 years)

Class Requirement: On the first day of class, students must be able to swim a coordinated front crawl for 15 yards and swim back crawls for 5 yards. Students shouldbe comfortable indeep water.

Level 6 - Sharks (Ages 7 years - 14 years)

Class Requirement: On the first day of class, students must be proficient in all previous strokes (frontcrawl, back crawl,and breaststroke).

Class Objectives: Students can swim two pool lengths of front and back crawl and 15 yards of breaststroke in good form. Students will be introduced to turns, dolphin kick and surface dives. Students will also work on endurance, sidestroke and refining all otherstrokes.

AQUATICS LIFEGUARD

Certification Class

Prosser Recreation Department will be offering two lifeguard certification classes for anyone who is 15 years of age or older to become a certified lifeguard through the American Red Cross. Includes First Aid and CPR. The requirements for this class include that the participant must:

be 15 years of age or older as of May 4, 2026.

be able to swim 300 yards of freestyle/ breaststroke without stopping in under 8 minutes.

be able to dive to the bottom of a 9 ft. deep pool to retrieve a 10 pound object and then swim 25 yards with it.

must attend every class to pass certification (no make-up sessions will be provided).

be able to tolerate extended exposure to water, heat and sun.

Jr. Lifeguard Class

Get ready to dive into action with Prosser Aquatics! Participants will learn what it takes to be a Prosser Aquatics Lifeguard by introducing them to water safety, rescue skills, first aid and CPR. Through games, fun activities, swimming and diving their skills will be refined, and their endurance increased. Participants must be able to swim 25 yards front crawl, 25 yards breaststroke and tread water for one minute. Please noted: this class does not certify your child to become a lifeguard

Aquatic Programs Information

Class Registration: You can register for any aquatics program at www.cityofprosser.com/pac, or call 509-786-2332. Keep in mind that some classes fill up fast and are limited on class size.

Lifeguard Re-Certification

Class Cancellations: Any aquatics program that do not meet the minimum participation enrollment will be cancelled. Classes will be cancelled if smoke, lightning or thunder are present. Classes will be made up at a later date or we will give partial refunds for any class cancelled.

Late Registration: There will be an additional $10 for any late registration within one (2) week from the class start date.

AQUATICS POLICIES & RULES

Our goal is to provide a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for all guests. The following policies apply to all visitors and are enforced for safety and comfort of everyone.

General Facility Policies

Behavior & Conduct

• Verbal or physical abuse toward guests or staff will result in immediate removal without refund.

• Same-day re-entry allowed with hand stamp only (see a cashier before leaving).

• No cash refunds.

• Accepted payments: cash, debit, and credit cards.

Lost & Found

• Items are disposed of weekly on Fridays at the end of the day.

Supervision & Age Guidelines

• Children 10 years and older may enter without a guardian.

• Guardians must be at least 13 years of age.

• Children under 6 years must remain within arm’s reach of a guardian at all times.

• Infants and toddlers must be supervised at all times.

Swim Diaper & Infant Safety Policy

• All infants and toddlers who are not pottytrained must wear swim diapers.

• Diaper changing on the pool deck is prohibited (use designated restrooms only).

Dress Code & Attire

To maintain a family-friendly environment:

• Proper swimwear is required in all pools.

• Swim diapers are required for infants and toddlers.

• Clean cotton t-shirts or swim tops are permitted.

• Attire must be appropriate for a public, family setting.

Pool Safety Rules

• No diving in shallow water.

• No food or drink on deck or in pool areas.

• No horseplay or unsafe behavior.

Flotation Devices:

• Coast Guard–approved flotation devices are allowed.

• Water wings are not permitted.

• Flotation devices must not obstruct visibility.

• Management reserves the right to remove any flotation device for safety reasons.

Enforcement

Failure to follow any facility policy or pool rule may result in removal from the facility without refund.

Non-Resident Fees

Participants who live outside of Prosser’s city limits canexpect topay20%morethanresidents for park reservations, rentals, recreation programs, events and pool fees. The non-resident rate ensures that families living outside the city limits are paying an equitable rate as those that live within the city limits.

Refund Policy

Sometimes things don’t go as planned. We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule or combine any activity or program as needed. If an activity or program is

cancelled by the Prosser Parks and Recreation Department, the patron will receive a full refund within three weeks of the activity or program being cancelled.

Request For Refunds By Patrons:

1. Refunds will be automatically granted if requested five (5) business days in advance of the activity or program (less a $10.00 processing fee per transaction).

2. Refunds may be considered if request is received less than (5) business days prior to the service (if any service has been received, no refunds will be granted)

3. Refunds will not be granted for any event or program cancelled due to inclement weather or circumstances beyond the City’s control. For information on any activity or program cancellation or to see if the Aquatic Center is open, please check our Facebook page or call us at 509786-2332.

Registration Guidelines

You must register prior to attending an activity or program. Fees must be paid in full at the time of registration. No “on-site” registrations will be taken by any staff. Program minimums must be met or the program is subject to cancellation, we suggest registering in advance to ensure programs minimums are met. There is a $20 service fee for all returned checks and declined credit cards.

Photography & Video

For promotional purpose, photographs may be taken of participants. If you do not wish to have your photo taken, please politely let our staff, photographer, or your instructor know.

Reservations are secured as soon as the fee has been paid. Reservations are accepted on a first come first served basis year round. Parks are open to the public and cannot be denied access. Your reservation is exclusive to any picnic pavilion, picnic tables and grills surrounding the pavilion or concessions. In order to keep the cost of park reservations low, please ONLY reserve the times needed for your event.
