Issue no.1, August 2009 - Prejmer Summer School
Welcome
Wake Up, PREJMER! Summer is a time for fun and play, a time for kids to be kids and enjoy the pleasures of warm weather and free time. Summer can also be a time for reflection and exploration. As Projects Abroad volunteers working with the students in Prejmer, we had an opportunity to experience both the fun and excitement of the children as well as their more thoughtful adventures. With our positions as journalists, we understand the importance of being able to reflect on our thoughts and ideas. Working with the children of Prejmer has been a wonderful privilege and we have greatly enjoyed watching them craft their ideas into imaginative stories and deep reflections of their thoughts. We hope you will share our appreciation for their creative writing and join us in our inaugural issue of Wake Up, Prejmer! by Jialin Guo

The Dream Far away in a village called Clairee, lived a boy named Billy. He was raised by his grandparents, since his parents died in a car accident. Billy was worried because his grandparents were poor. One day in winter, Billy decided to run away because his grandparents did not have enough money for him. The next evening, Billy took food and water and went into the woods. The woods were dark and cold. Billy could not see anything, but he could hear the howl of a wolf. He was scared so he ran into the heart of the forest. Billy fell down because he was tired. He dragged himself to a tree and fell asleep there. The next day, Billy was found by an old man. This old man took him home to his grandparents and told them what happened. Then, Billy woke up and realized everything was just a dream. by Andreea Dobrinas and Ioana Calnegru
Graffiti I discovered my passion for graffiti when I switched from Prejmer’s school to a school in Brasov. In Brasov I met a graffiti artist who told me how things were. He taught me how to draw with spray paint and he taught me which spray paints were better to use and how to sketch and many other things. Some people don’t understand the graffiti art, but for me graffiti is simply just that - an art form. by Alex Raducanu
