Sustainability always shows throughout our brands from environmental impact calculations, certifications and people in the value chain.

Environmental impact

OptiGroup provides estimates on the carbon emissions linked to each product, helping our customers make informed choices. On selected articles, we perform life cycle assessments (ISO14040), while we use supplier data combined with recognized databases for the remaining assortment. A “cradle-to-gate” scope is applied, which entails that figures can be used for sustainability reporting, however not for direct comparisons between sold articles.

Certifications

All product labels are marked with relevant and recognized certifications. Nordic Svan and EU Ecolabel are labels indicating high environmental performance standards (Glenta, WeCare). For foodservice packaging, we ensure that raw materials are used from responsibly managed forests (FSC). The products with the highest environmental standard can be found under the “Cradle to Cradle” labels indicating that materials can be safely reused, recycled or composted.

People in the value chain

We source locally where we can and have our own staff in Asia to perform regular audits at our suppliers when we buy from Asia. OptiGroup is a part of the BSCI / Amfori network, and we have strong processes in place to minimize adverse impacts on people in the value chain.
